"It's just a crush, calm down." Tanya tried to soothe me as I paced up and down the room.
"But I've never had a 'crush' on someone before. I hate it yet love it at the same time." I sighed and sat down
"You've never had a crush on someone?" She asked in disbelief.
"Okay well apart from movie stars I knew I'd never meet...no! I was only interested in school and nerdy stuff. Besides...no one caught my attention." I shrugged my shoulders.
"Until Mr Ranawat?" She raised her eyebrow.
"Yes." I admitted defeat.
"So what's your plan?"
"For what?" I asked.
"You know, how are you going to deal with this new-found crush?"
"Um...nothing." I laughed. "What am I supposed to do, tell him?" I laughed, but Tanya nodded her head. "No ways, we LIVE together Tanya, and he's my teacher, so if anyone found out he'd be fired and I'd be expelled."
"Well you can't bottle it up, it'll eat you alive." She argued.
"I have to much to risk, Tanya." I sighed.
"Okay, don't tell him." She agreed. "But," there had to be a 'but', "there's no harm in teasing him." She smirked.
"What do you mean by teasing?"
"So naïve." She shook her head in dismay. "Okay so let's say it's a really hot day, but you strategically wear a sweater, then you slowly take it off of you in front of you."
"Yeah so?"
"Idiot!" She slapped her forehead. "You're like giving him a little strip show."
"Oh." Was all I said. "Yeah I don't think teasing is a good idea either, I'm sure this whole crush thing will phase out."
"Or it could grow into something bigger." She said playfully, but it had a serious undertone to it.
"I doubt it."

I sat on my bed and took off my shoes. The house was quiet, Abhay probably went out.
I couldn't possibly "tease" Abhay, as Tanya put it. No ways, that's too crazy.
I did some homework and fell off to sleep on my bed.
A booming laugh awoke me from my sleep, it was coming from the living room.
"Okay okay, how about Mrs Pillay from the culinary faculty?" Said a male's voice.
"She's like seventy years old! Thanks, but no thanks."
Abhay?
It was his voice alright, but he sounded different. His speech was slurred...
Oh my god, he's drunk! Why would he drink?
"Oh c'mon Abhay, you have to pick someone. Man you're the fussiest man in the world." Said another male voice.
These must be Abhay's friends from the university, and they're probably trying to set him up with someone.
Anger boiled within me.
"I'm not fussy, you gave me horrible options." He laughed.
"Oh I know," said the first male's voice, "what about Miss Arora? She's not that bad."
My eyes widened. He would never choose her, at least I hope he wouldn't. I held in my breath.
"Eh." He said. I can imagine him shrugging his shoulders. "She's too, extra. And immature. And attention seeking and-"
"Oh god, we get it! But she's not hideous to look at."
"No she's not." Said Abhay and my heart sank. He's attracted to her. Ugh I hate her- "She's unbearable to look at." He said and I mentally leaped for joy.
"No woman will go out with you if you keep acting like this."
"I don't need anyone right now, damn how many times have I told you, I'm fine being alone."
"Alright, alright," said his friend, "atleast get laid."
My eyes bulged out of their sockets.
"Dude, seriously." Abhay said then laughed. "I'm not gonna sleep with someone just because...well just because." He fumbled over his words.
"Okay, fine, we get the message. Abhay, we tried but you're a picky man whom can never be pleased. So, here's to being single."
I heard glass clink and assumed they made a toast.
"Yup, how's marriage treating you guys?"
"Couldn't be better." Said one.
"No comment." Said the other.
Abhay laughed. "I rest my case. I'll never get married."
For some reason Abhay's words hurt me.
"Hey what about that student of yours?"
It was quiet for a while.
"What about her?" His tone changed. He appeared...angry?
"You know the one you always talk about, what's her name? Tiffani? Tayla? Te-"
"Tina." Said Abhay.
My jaw dropped to the ground. He talks about me to his friends?
"That's the one! What's her story?"
"I don't know and I don't want to know." I could hear his anger.
"Yeah but yo-"
"She's my student, nothing more, nothing less. So deal with it."
I'm nothing to him? Ouch.
"Oh please. We saw you chatting her up at the soccer game. You wanna hit that."
"Fine, I'll admit it, she looked good that day. But only on that day. She's just student, and I'll never see her any other way." He said. "And besides, she dresses like a total nerd every other day." He said and my mouth dropped.
It's a good thing he didn't know I was home so that I could hear his entire conversation.
How dare he insult my appearance and my fashion sense?
Oh, I'll show him.
