Over three weeks had gone by, and no one had seen or heard from Josh. It was like he and completely vanished from the world. No one spoke about him, or even acknowledged the fact that he was gone. I even tried to call him, but the number was no longer available. It was like he had never even existed.
Tyler hardly ever spoke; he only said a few words here and there. He didn't talk unless he was addressed directly. Tyler became a walking skeleton, I never saw him eat. I even bought him Taco Bell for lunch last week, he didn't even touch it. Deep purple bags sat under his eyes, it was evident that he hadn't been sleeping either. He had been surviving off of Red Bull for the past three weeks. He would drink about four cans during school alone. God knows how much he drank at home.
I wasn't handling Josh's dissapearance very well either; I missed him terribly. Josh was the only distraction I had from reality. He was the only thing keeping me sane. With him gone, the wars that took place inside my skull were more violent than ever. They mercillessly attacked me, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep fighting them.

It was Friday night, and I was gazing out my bedroom window again. I didn't know what I was looking for. I was searching for something that wasn't there. Something that would put a smile on my face. It seemed like that something would never come.
I was about to go to bed when something caught my eye. At the end of the street, there was a hooded figure running down the sidewalk. My eyes widened when I realized that the figure was headed towards my house. I quickly shut my blinds and stepped away from the window. My heartbeat quickened when I heard something hit my window. I stayed put, fearing what the figure would do if I neared the window.
"Elle? Elle are you up there?"
I was frozen in shock. Only Josh calls me 'Elle.' Getting over my shock, I scrambled to my window and started fumbling with the blinds. My hands were shaking from nervousness.
It's just Josh, why are you so nervous?
Who wouldn't be nervous in front of Josh? When I finally got the window open, I dropped my gaze to look at him. He was trying to climb the tree next to my window.
"Josh?" I called out, "What are you doing?"
"Can't you see, Elle? I'm trying to be Spiderman!" He replied, looking up at me. At that moment of distraction, his foot slipped and he fell off the tree and onto his behind.
"Oh my gosh!" I gasped, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," he mumbled while standing up and trying to climb the tree again.
"Josh, why don't you just come through the front door?"
"I can't!"
"Why not?"
"Cause I don't think your parents would like it if I just strolled into your house at like one in the morning." He had a point. My parents were very strict and they would kill the both of us if they found out a boy came into my room in the middle of the night. "And plus, I would look way cooler if I climbed this tree."
After a couple of more failed attempts, he climbed the tree successfully and made it to my window. He carefully crawled through it and stood in front of me. He stared at me with piercing brown eyes through his dark hood. All I saw was his eyes; his hood shadowed the rest of his face. Without a second thought, I stepped forward and wrapped my arms around his neck and buried my face into the crook of his neck, pulling him into a tight hug. He seemed shocked at first, but he recovered quickly and wrapped his muscular arms around my waist, pulling me close. He set his chin on the top of my head and rubbed my back. We stood like that for a long time, enjoying each other's presence. Tears welled up in my eyes.
