I woke up to screeching coming from the lab. Macey and Laura were standing in the very back corner next to the APB radio. Kaydon and Jesse had the Laser cannons in hand and were waiting for my instruction. Yup MY instruction. I guess that is how it works now, you provide a base and now your commander. I grabbed one of the guns off of the desk and went into the lab, the guys followed.

A guy from one of the bullet proof glass containers was standing straight, instead of bent like most of the Infected. His face was pressed to the glass. He was my ex boyfriend. The only reason for the ex is because he got contaminated. That is why I chose him for the experiment. His bright blue eyes were staring at me, not through me, that was an improvement. He stuck his hand to the glass and I put mine over his on the other side.

"Karma." He breathed. His dark voice was that of the same as his regular self. Then he collapsed and all of the Heart Monitors simultaneously flat lined. All of my test subjects had died. All at the same time.

"Fuck." Kaydon said from behind me. I turned around. Kaydon and Jesse were surrounded by the Infected, summoned by the screeches of the dead. I pulled My rifle around to the front of me and started shooting. In order to kill them you need to shoot them point-blank in the forehead. Unless you have the Laser canons Kaydon and Jesse do. In a matter of minutes they were all on the floor, dead. I took the closest body and pulled it up onto the examining table. It was a female subject, she was about 16, my age. She was pregnant. I attached the heart rate monitor the brain wave monitor to her chest and sent and electric shock throughout her body. She jolted alive and I looked her over closely. I shoved her into an empty container. We took the bodies above ground and laid them out next to the movie theaters. It was about noon. We ran back inside.

"What was that?" Laura was the first to talk. She was pretty much skin and bones. The person who ate last was macey, three days ago, because she is the pregnant one.

"An attack." I have to go back and give the girl a dose of the Vaccine. she should still be ok.

"As I can tell, but why?" She looked lost.

"We don't know, but probably because the others in the labwere dying." She nodded and Jesse went over to her. Gunner had stayed with the two while we went out anddealed with what we had to. Gunner was Macey's Husband. Jesse was Laura's fiancee. and Kaydon was alone. He was the leader of their Pack. I was leader now though, and everyone operated under my control. It was an unspoken agreement we had made last night how things would go. From now on I'm the leader, Kaydon is my right hand man because he was the leader before me. Gunner is in charge of staying with and guarding the other two girls and Jesse did what I told him to do. It was as simple as that.

"So can one of you explain how this all happened?" Macey asked. She was obviously out of date with everything that has been going on.

"Well in May of 2012 two Russian scientists discovered that they could create a super virus and disease their enemies. What they hadn't know is that once they released the chemical it would take 3 weeks to fully take affect and transform the population of the world into...well we aren't exactly sure what they are. My parents used to just call them the Infected. Capitol I, proper noun. So that is a whole new species in the middle of life and death, creating a whole new....thing. When It happened only a small region of people were infected, but once those people started to travel they spread it to uninfected people. And by December 21 everyone who could get it had it. People who survived this far are the key to the cure, and a lot of Russians have survived infection. But the Infected people started to turn on each other and then started to develop cannibalistic characteristics. So the people that did survive started to be killed or hunted." Jesse stopped me.

"For someone who's what, 16 or 17 you seem to know a lot."

"My parents were scientists, I knew everything there could be known. remember the swine flu vaccine, I actually came u with how to solve that and I was only like 10.

"Continuing: Anyways, they were either killed or hunted. and now if your a survivor then you have accomplished something good. I'm close to coming up with the Reverse disease and curing this all. But I don't know if it will do, You have to have people spread it. or in this case you have to have the Infected spread it. And I don't know how to do that. They really only stay in one region."

"But how does all this affect us. All we have to do is survive. We can create new towns, rebiuld the human species. We can do it! We don't have to cure these things, we just have to kill them." As Kaydon finished saying that a hand reached down into the window, Macey screamed, and sooner, there was way more than one hand.
