The horizon was starting to become light, so I hurried to the hospital where Bridget and the other troops were stationed. As I got there I ran into the building and locked the door behind me. I wouldn't be able to leave until dark again.

"Hey, Uh, does anyone know where I can find Bridget Baker." Once Bridget had moved out she had gotten married to Kale Baker, my brother in law of whom I had never met.

"She went to go talk to the general." A girl with dark hair and VERY light skin told me.

"Is there anywhere I can wait for her?" I asked the girl.

"You can wait here, I'll tell her that her sister is waiting for her." She started to walk off.

"WAIT! How did you know I was her sister?" I asked.

"Army guys are HUGE gossips." She said and winked as she walked away. I sighed and sat down in a worn, dusty chair next to the Nurses station in the lobby.

A young guy, maybe my age, maybe a year older, walked the the lobby and gazed at me with amazement. He had dark brown hair and gray-ish blue eyes. He was toned, very fit, and tan. Which was weird, because none of us had seen the sun for months.

"HI." I smiled at him. He stopped and sat down across from me.

"Hi." He grinned.

"I'm Karma."

"I figured joining the army would pay off." I laughed.

"No, my NAME is Karma." I told him.

"I'm Milo." He held out his and and I shook it.

"So, they are relocating you to Arizona?" He asked.

"At first we didn't want to, but we decided to go. Well, all of us except jerk-face." I told him.

"All of us? You're not the only one? Are you the only girl?" He asked. I shook my head.

"There's Macey, she's pregnant, she's married to Gunner. Then there's Laura, she's engaged to Jesse. And lastly, Kaydon he's all alone with him lonely self, he's the jerk-face who doesn't want to go to Arizona." I told him. Milo nodded.

"So you're here and they aren't because?" He asked.

"I came to tell Bridget that we have decided to go to Arizona." I told him. He nodded again.

"Bridget Baker?"

"Ya. Why?"

"Nothing, she is just in there," he pointed to a door across the hall, " talking to the general about relocating here." He said.

"What? Why?"

"Because she says she thinks something important could be going down here, but I think it's because she found out you were alive."

"She doesn't like me. I don't think she would be to thrilled about living in the same city, let alone state, as me." I told him. He shook his head.

"No, She doesn't have anyone left but Kale. And they are separated and they are saying that they just need a break, but ever since this epidemic started they haven't had time to try to work things out." He explained.

"But just because I'm alive wouldn't mean that she would want to be with me." I said.

"Good point, but with no one left you do crazy things, right?" I nodded.

"Anyways, here comes your sister." He told me and pointed back at the door which was now opening.

"What do you want Karma?" She asked me as Milo headed off to do something else.

"Well, I came to tell you that we decided that we want to go to Arizona." I told her. Her jaw dropped.

"What?" I asked.

"I just convinced the general to relocate here." I sighed and nodded.

"I guess I'll go tell the others." I told her and started to walk off.

"Karma, Wait up!" I stopped in my tracks and she caught up to me.

"I'm sorry for running out on you and Dad like that, I know you were just a little kid and it wasn't you're fault."

"It's fine." I told her and started to walk to my truck again. She kept pace with me.

"Can I come?" She asked when I stopped. I nodded. We ran the three miles to my truck and I drove the rest of the way.

**** 1 Hour Later******

"So, we're not going?" Macey clarified for the millionth time. I nodded.

"But, why stay here. We are already beginning to be snowed in." She said.

"Being snowed in wont matter, the government actually has underground tunnels running though the city. So everyone would have enough transportation." Bridget told them.

"So we are totally safe to stay here for another Ice age? How would we get food?" Laura asked.

"Well, the military has been experimenting with new ways to grow food underground, they've almost perfected it." I nodded in agreement. On the ten minute drive Bridget had informed me of mostly everything that I would need to know.

"So we're COMPLETELY safe?" Laura asked.

"Yea." I answered.

"So, Kaydon, that means you wont have to go anywhere." I told him haughtily.

"Yea, but now everyone is coming here." he said.

"So, what's your problem with people?" I asked.

"My brother's In the military. Lieutenant Baker. I haven't seen him since he joined a couple years ago, some are saying that he married some bitch. Apparently, according to my friend Milo, who I haven't talked to since this whole," He waved his hands around in the air for effect. "thing happened, he said that he didn't feel like she loved him or appreciated him anymore, serves him right, the ass he's been all his life." Bridget's Jaw dropped.

"Kale Baker?" She asked. Kaydon nodded.
