Hermione's POV

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Remember, don't touch anything." He said as we stepped out of his car. St Mungo's was bigger than I remembered from when Mr Weasley was attacked by that snake. As we walked into the hospital, two healers came rushing up to us.
"Mr. Malfoy!" The first cried urgently.
"Mr. Malfoy come quickly!" The other said, rushing off down the corridor. We followed them quickly and I found myself in a ward with blue curtains and only two beds. There were flowers arranged on one of the bedside tables and a distressed woman being comforted by another healer.
"It's ok, Alice. They'll find him, don't worry." The healer said, getting up to hand Alice Longbottom a tissue.
Neville's parent's were finally regaining stability, however Frank was no-where to be seen. Suddenly an elderly woman came rushing past us, and started shouting at one of the healer's next to us. It was nice to see that Neville's description of her in our third year was actually correct, and I found myself thinking of the boggart Snape. A small smile carressed my lips before I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"We might want to give them some space." He whispered huskily into my ear, his voice echoing in my head. I nodded vaugely and followed him out of the ward. We stopped at a row of seats by the reception.
"What happened to Frank Longbottom?" I asked worridly.
"I don't know." He said, looking at me, a longing in his eyes.
We shared a moment there, and the next thing I knew we were sitting next to each other, our hands entwined, staring into each other's eyes. It had been two days since I found out about Ron, and Draco was really helping me get over it. Only yesterday he had taken me out to the cinema to watch a film. He's really growing on me.
He suddenly stood up, leaving my hand to drop down onto the chair. I looked at hin sadly before he sighed and mimicked my facial expression.
"I came here to work you know."
"Yes, I do know, and I didn't want to come here."
"Then go home."
"Maybe I will."
"Miss Granger?" A frail voice said behind me. I turned, surprised at the formal-ness of the way she spoke.
"Please call me Hermione."
"Well Hermione, Mrs Alice Longbottom wishes to speak to you." She told me, taking a few steps down the corridor. "Alone." She added as she saw Draco. I nodded and followed her down the corridor, back into the ward.
Alice was sitting on the bed, staring through the window at a boy playing happily with a girl, the complete opposite to him.
"Alice?"
"He's gone." She gazed out of the window, emotionless.
"They'll find him Alice."
"No, they won't, he's gone."
Hermione started crying and had to leave the room. She didn't understand.
