Chapter four ~ The Surprise

The first week went by fairly quickly; we had got into a routine which seemed to be working well. I had the month off to devote my time to the work and Draco was working once a week.

We had resolved to the use of first names as we were now housemates. I would regularly send an owl to Ron, Ginny and Harry, all of whom felt the deepest sympathy for me having to share a house with Draco.

We had got considerably closer over the past week, which I was very grateful for. Then one day something happened. It was the Prophey that delivered the news.

'Weasley kisses Ash'

I threw the paper down and locked myself in my bedroom, Draco must've seen the article too because the next thing I knew he was knocking on my door. I ignored it though, The tears kept running and they just wouldn't stop. She was Draco's ex, and Ron and I were engaged. I stared at the ring on my finger before pulling it off and throwing it down. More pounding came from behind the door but again I ignored it. Instead I pulled out a pen and paper and wrote a note to Ronald.

'Forget it'

I put the ring and letters in an envelope and gave it to my owl before falling onto my bed.

"Mione?"

My heart stopped. Hearing him say my name sent a warmth through my body. I unlocked the door and saw him standing there with tears rolling doan his cheeks.

Without thinking I jumped inyo his arms.

"Why are you crying Draco?" I whispered into his ear.

"Because it pains me to see you hurting."

I pulled away. For a moment I thought he was going to kissme, then he pulled me back into his arms. I cried into his shoulder while he rubbed my back.

Draco's POV

The article came so sudden. She just locked herself away. I didn't know what to do. It pained me seeing her this way.

I knocked softly on her door but she didn't answer. I could hear her sobs from outside. I started pounding on the door but all I heard was muffed noises. Tears started rolling down my cheeks and I couldn't stop myself.

"Mione?" I whispered into her door desperately.

Moments later I heard the lock click and she flung herself into my arms. She was still crying.

"Why are you crying Draco?" her lips brushed against my ear and I felt my heart race.

"Because it pains me to see you hurting." I replied. I knew I had said the wrong thing because she pulled away frm me.

I saw her lips and wanted so bad to kiss her but I didn't. Instead I pulled her back into my arms while she let her tears run.

Ok this was sooo bad. All of my chapters have been really short and I just can't write at the moment. sorry to everyone who is reading this for the long update. thinking of deleting this book and posting the first book in the trilogy I have planned instead - HELP! please leave comments and votes -i want to know how I did!
