As soon as we got out of my neighborhood I asked "What was that all about?" He looked me confused and said "I don't know what you mean by that." I rolled my eyes and said "You know damn well I saw everything that happened between you and my dad." He sighs and says "I don't want to talk about it."
"Well that sucks because you have to."
"Okay but first you have to tell me about your past." He said.
"No!"
Nate looked at me shocked and said "Okay then I guess I can't tell you what your dad said." I rolled my eyes and said "Whatever, all I have to do is ask him and he'll tell me." As soon as I said that his expression darkened, his muscles tensed, grit his teeth and said very darkly. "I don't think you should be around him anymore." I looked at him shocked and asked. "Why? What did he say to you?" He was still in the same position with his eyes staring at the road and said "Something he shouldn't have." I sighed and said "I know I shouldn't be around him anymore but I don't have a choice because my grandparents already went to court to try and get custody over me but they weren't able to." He sighs and continues to drive as we sit in silence. After a minute or two I get tired of the silence so I turn on the radio and skip through the stations to find a good song and I stumble upon 'I Write Sins, Not Tragedies' by Panic! At the Disco and turn it up pretty loud. Nate smiles reaches over, turns it up as loud as it'll go and starts to yell sing terribly along with it as he rolls down the windows. "Come on Cece I know you want to sing with me." He says smiling. So I yell sing terribly along with him until the song ends and we pull up to the McDonald's drive through. We're about three cars away from ordering our food and he turns the music down, looks at me, and says "Will you do me a favor?" "Yeah what's the favor?" I asked. "You'll find out in a minute. What do you want?" He asked. "A chocolate shake with fries." I said as we pulled up. "Hi, welcome to McDonald's may I take your order?" Some lady said with a freakishly high pitched voice. "Uh, yea can I get a Big Mac with a Root Beer, a bottle of water, a chocolate milkshake, and some fries?" Nate said. "What size do you want the milkshake and fries?" She asked. He looked at me and I mouthed medium at him so he turned around, told the lady and she said. "Okay pull up to the next window please."
"Okay." He said as he pulled away from the microphone and drove up to the first window. After the lady handed us our food he pulled out of the drive through and into the gas station parking lot that was right across the street as he was parking he turned to me and asked "Ready to do that favor?" I narrowed my eyes at him and said "You have to tell me what it is before I agree to do anything." He looked at me and said "Okay I want you to take off all of your makeup." "Why?" I asked nervously. "Because I want to see what he's done to you."
"He hasn't. done anything to me." Nate looked at me with one eyebrow raised and asked "Then why can't you tell your makeup off?" Damn it I thought as I sighed and said "Fine, but you can't get mad. Okay?"
"Okay."
He handed me the water bottle and a napkin. I took them from him and sighed as I poured water onto the napkin and started to wipe off my makeup.
