"Bucky..." Micky whispered in Bucky's ear. He was still sleeping but Micky had a surprise for him and wanted him to wake up "Bucky..." she poked his cheek
"Hmm" Bucky frowned and opened his eyes "Wut?" He mumbled
"I have a surprise" she said "I need you to wake up"
"Later" he mumbled and cuddled
"Come on, Buck. I prepared something that might help you with your memories" That got Bucky's attention. He opened one eye to guve her a questioning look. She only grinned. He gave up
"Alright I'm up" he said sitting up
"Great. Get ready and we'll have breakfast"
She then walked out of his room and into the kitchen. Bucky sighed one last time before yawning and getting up putting on some jeans, a red long sleeved shirt and his black tennis shoes. He got out to find the table already set and Micky on the kitchen. However some papers were in thr table as well, pampflets of New York. Curious, he picked one up and opened it, it talked about sights in New York. Some of its history. He noticed Brooklyn was surrounded in a circle made with a red market. He saw other and it had the sight of the Statue of Liberty and the time the ferries left the port
"Hey, don't read that" He turned to see Micky with two plates with hot cakes in them "You'll ruin the surprise" she pouted before putting the plates on the table
"We're touring New York?" He asked
"Well, I was going to tell you after breakfast but yeah. I was thinking of going to the Statue of Liberty and then taking a walk in Brooklyn" she said "I mean, I know it has changed since the 40's but there has to be something familiar, right? Maybe you'll remember something and well... I haven't really been there so we can get familiar with the city together" she beamed
"I..." Bucky didn't know what to say. She had planned a whole day to help him remember, he really appreciated that. However Micky interpreted his lack of words wrong and thought she was pushing him
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to seem pushy, I just thought it would help. We don't have to do this, we can do something else-" she rambled
"No, no. It's fine" he said and smiled "It's fantastic actually. Thank you so much. I appreciate it" Micky smiled back
"Well that's what friends are for" she said "Now c'mon. I made hot cakes"
After breakfast they grabbed their jackets and walked out. Bucky started walking towards her car
"No, we'll walk. You can't appreciate a city from a car" Micky said
"Isn't it too far?" He asked
"Kind of. We'll take the subway"
They walked together to the subway. Bucky was a little bit uneasy with the crowd. Not really for himself but for Micky. It'd be hard to protect her if he couldn't see the threat. Micky was also a little scared of loosing Bucky in the crowd, so she grabbed his hand and didn't let go until they went back up on Brooklyn
"Welcome back to Brooklyn" she said stretching out her arm like introducing someone. Bucky looked around, nothing looked familiar to him, evertything was new "C'mon" Micky pulled him walking on the street, they looked around to many places, they then passed in front of big door that looked old. It strung a feeling of familiarity in Bucky, he stoppped walking and stared at it. Noticing he wasn't walking, Micky stopped too and followed his gaze to the doors of Greed-Wood Cementery. She looked at Bucky, he was almost having a memory
"Looks familiar?" She asked. Bucky nodded still staring at the doors "Let's go then"
Grabbing his hand, she led him into the cementery, she let go of his hand when they entered and she started to look around. Bucky looked around too and started walking, he didn't even know where he was going but his body seemed to remember more about himself that his mind. Mickeyla followed behind him silently
He kept walking through the graves, part of him was anxious to know where he was going. He felt like he knew someone, he started readying the graves he passed, finally, he stopped in a familiar grave

"They were Steve's parents" Bucky said "his father died in the war before Steve was born" Micky didn't say anything, what could she actually say? Bucky continued walking, he found graves he wished he hadn't found
Rebecca Barnes

Beloved friend, grandmother, mother and wifeRoger Barnes
1895 - 1970
Beloved friend, grandfather, father and husband"These are my parents" Bucky said almost out of breath
"I'm sorry Buck" Mickeyla said placing a hand in his shoulder. The graves also had flowers, he could bet al least one bouquet was Steve's "You know, cementeries are links to the afterlife. If you talk to them, they'll probably listen to you" she offered a smile "I'll give you some privacy" she stepped back and Bucky looked back at the graves
Mickeyla saw a man selling flowers by the entrance and walked towards him. Meanwhile, Bucky looked for something to say, he said the first thing that came into his mind
"I'm sorry" he said "I'm sorry I worried you and I'm sorry I never came back" his eyes started stinging from the held tears "I am so sorry. The worst part is... I can't remember you. I can't remember your faces, your names don't even sound familiar. And I am so so sorry for that" tears were now falling from Bucky's eyes "I will redeem myself. I will make you proud, become the man you taught me to be. I promise I will"
He heard shuffling behind him and wiped away his tears before turning around. Micky was there with two bouquetes of white daisies and tulips, she smiled softy at him and walked to stand next to him. She handed him one bouquete and they each put them in Bucky's parents' graves. Before leaving, Bucky took one tulip from each bouquete and put them in the graves of Steve's parents. Micky held Bucky's hand and he squeezed it feeling better, they left the cementery together to continue they tour day, Bucky now felt lighter, he had had closure and he had Micky to thank for it.
