The sun peak over the edge of the meadow. Misty open her eyes. Misty saw her Father, Spirit, and her Mom, Rain, standing next to Esperanza, who was laying on the ground.
Oh no, what wrong with Mema! Thought Misty.
Misty trot over to them.
" Oh, Misty! Mema is very ill. She may die," said Rain. Misty look over at her Dad, Spirit, was upset. Misty loved Esperanza, but if it was time for her to go. Then why stop her.
"Misty! Come here!" Called Esperanza. Misty walk over to Mema.
"Yes, Mema?" Said Misty.
"You are the next Lead Mare of the Cimarron Herd. You need to start looking for a Lead Stallion to be your mate. You may only pick from stallion that are in the Herd. Your father will show you a few he likes but ultimately in must came from the heart as will as the brain. Raven, come here! Raven, you are going to learn about herds from Rain. Rain, please lead the herd away. OK?" Said Esperanza. Esperanza laid her head on the ground, then her neck went limp.
"MOTHER!!! MOTHER, PLEASE SAID SOMETHING!!!! ANYTHING!!" Cried Spirit.
But Esperanza was gone.
