"What was that?" Stef asked as she turned to the window.
Callie stood up from the couch, eyes wide and body shaking.
A group of screams echoed down the corridors of the school as hurried footsteps sounded.
The screams got louder and the footsteps got closer.
A few students ran past the office window.
"What the hell is going on?" Lena asked loudly.
The door swung open and Monte ran into the room. She seemed traumatised.
"Hey what's happening?" Lena said.
Monte slammed the door and planted her back against it as her body shook slightly.
"There's a guy going around shooting." She puffed.
"What?" Lena replied. She sounded more angry than scared.
Another gunshot sounded followed by another set of screams.
Stef grabbed her radio from her shoulders and called into it.
"This is Foster, shooting at Ancor Beach High School, suspect is armed calling in all available units. Repeat suspect is armed." She said as she pulled her gun from her belt. "I need you to make an announcement. Tell every student to hide."
The only noise was the sound of breathing and hearts beating.
Monte nodded slightly.
The gun clicked as Stef loaded it by her side.
"Do not open this door, okay?" Stef said as she pulled the door open slightly.
"What are you doing?" Lena asked.
"My job." She replied. "Stay here."
Stef walked out of the office leaving the three women in silence.
At this point nothing felt real. The screams then the silence.
Callie looked through the window trying to see anything, any one.
A million thoughts ran through her mind. She had just revealed her biggest secret and now this. Who was going around shooting people? Where was he? Why? Where was Jude? Mariana? Jesus? Brandon?
"I'll be back." Callie said as she pushed through Lena and monte.
"Callie!" Lena yelled after her trying to pull her back but she was already gone.
Callie's feet echoed in the hall way as she stepped. The hallway was empty. There a note book or two scattered on the floor and it seemed like every fourth locker was open like the owner was in a rush. Which they were.
Callie felt her heart beat in her throat. Each step she took terrified her. Her legs felt like jelly. The pain and the nerve made her feel as if she would faint.
She breathed in slowly as she stared at the English room across the corridor form her.it was just out of instinct that she knew where Jude was and what class he was in. Years of having no one but him, she made sure she knew exactly where he was. And she did.
Callie pressed her back against the cold steel lockers as she gained courage to make her move to the class.

Mariana sat down underneath the desk with Jesus. She had gripped his arm so tight that her knuckles had turned white.
Her bottom lip trembled as she felt her eyes swell with tears.
Jesus looked across to his sister.
"Hey, it's gonna be ok." Jesus whispered.
Mariana nodded trying to believe him.
They had both been hiding in the history room since the announcement. The whole class had been forced to hide underneath their desk in the darkness and silence of the room.
"Who would do this?" Mariana continued.
Jesus swallowed. "I don't know. I don't know."
The door of the room opened and light poured in.
They both looked over their desks expecting to see a cop or a teacher or anyone. But they didn't.
Silhouetted in the pale yellow light was nick. Hand gun fastened in his hand and his shoulders bouncing up and down as he breathed.
Jesus frowned as he recognised the figure.
"Nick?" He mumbled as he began to stand up.
Mariana grabbed at his shirt. "Jesus don't. It's not him."
Jesus continued to stand up when he noticed the gun in his hand.
"Nick, what are you doing?"
Mariana tensed up then she looked towards the figure.
She began to stand up next to Jesus trying to see him clearly.
"Mariana?" Nick mumbled softly as he sniffed.
Mariana felt a rush of air fall out of her mouth as she realised it was him. Nick was the shooter.
With no answer nick raised the gun and pointed it square at Jesus.
Jesus flinched back to he ground.
"Nick what are you doing?" He yelled out trying to put some sense into him.
"Don't do this man." Said a voice from under another desk.
"Why not?" Nick replied as tears stung his eyes. "I have noting."
"Yeah you do." Jesus said not knowing what to say.
"I have nothing." Nick yelled then pulled the trigger.
A bullet shot across the classroom and blasted through the back wall next to Jesus' head.
Almost every student flinched. Cries and screams bounced across the room some more emotional and traumatic than others.
Jesus grabbed Mariana and shielded her the way a brother should.
Nicks footsteps echoed down the halls as he began to walk away. His shadow darkening the room.
"We have to go." Jesus stated.
"What? where?" Mariana quaked as her eyes widened.
Jesus squatted down next to her and placed his hands on her arms.
"Come on." Jesus added as he stood up.
"Let's go."
Mariana nodded then followed Jesus out.

Callie breathed in deep as she was to the point of making her move.
She stepped forward and was about to run to the room when another gun shot sounded.
Callie through herself back against the locker and hit it with a bang. The impact send a pain through her head, a pain that made her want to just crumple to the floor.
A set of footsteps sounded to her right. She hadn't even checked to see if any one was there.
She turned and saw a figure making it way towards her. It could've been anyone, someone safe and heroic. But she didn't want to find out, anyone, any noise scared her. Her paranoia overwhelmed her power to think clearly.
She turned and stepped forward around the lockers making her way into the hallway away from Jude when a hand grabbed her mouth.
