Josh's POV//

I sat closely to Tyler, thinking about the situation. Why him? Why'd they hurt such a nice guy like him? I pondered the thought, complexity building up until I found myself asking him the same question.
"Tell me why, they did that to you.. If you know." Shit. I probably made him upset. I swallowed hard before tilting my head to look at Tyler.
"I can't.."

"You can't or you won't?" I demand. I stop and close my eyes, letting out a strained sigh.
"I-I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to pressure you.. How about I help you to your last period?" I said, feeling guilty for constantly yelling at him.

"It's okay.. I can- I can walk myself.." My heart dropped at his rejection. He played with the buttons on his shirt as he spoke again,
"I guess we should get going.. Before we're late." Right when he glanced at me I put on a small smile. He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion at something before shaking his head and letting go of the loose buttons.
"Yeah I'm heading to Chemistry.. So I'll see you tomorrow?" I finally say as I allow the events of the day to sink in. He just nods and stands up. He offers a hand but I decline, his small frame couldn't pull me up even if he wanted. I slide my hands into my pockets as he opens the door, slithering out just before the door shuts. We turn down different hallways, without another word. I want to turn around and hug him, thinking maybe if I hold him long enough, he'll be safe. My head was teeming with thoughts as I entered the classroom. Everyone turned to look at me, as if in total sync. I just look down and sit in the far back corner. I heard someone whisper my name, my neck burned after whipping it around so quickly. The red-haired girl from the cafeteria passed me a note. I gripped it, considering to just get up and throw it away. But something told me not to. And I found myself opening the letter. Every word was written in pink gel-pen. I shook my head, girls like the strangest things. It had a small heart on the corner and said, 'Meet me after class at the soccer-field~' .
I stare at the words until the bell rings. I shove the paper in my bag before shuffling out of the class, on my way to the soccer field.
