Tyler's POV//
I yawn, stretching my locked up arms. Josh was passed out next to me. I smile at him, his snores harmonized perfectly with the chirps of birds and the sounds of nature around us. I crawl out of the tent, being extremely careful to not waken Josh. I stand up and look at the scenery. The pastel yellow and orange hue slicing through the lilac filled sky calmed me.
It was beautiful.
Almost as beautiful as Josh.
I giggle at my cheesy comment. I start cleaning up our trash, walking towards the house to throw it away.
I check my phone and look at the time.
6 A.M.
An idea popped up in my mind and I waved my hands excitedly. I'm going to cook Josh breakfast!
I put our leftovers in the fridge and pull out some pans.
--
15 minutes later there were 3 large plates ready.
One plate held sausage and bacon,
Another had pancakes
And the last one had eggs, scrambled and fried.I grin with pride at the meal I created. I hope Josh enjoys it. I search every cabinet until I find the coffee mugs. I pull out the two matching white ones and set them on the counter. I poured Josh's cup to the brim with straight black coffee. I'm not sure how he'll like it so I add a small pinch of sugar in it just in case.
I poured mine, adding sugar and some hazelnut creamer I found in the fridge. As I was stirring mine, the front door opened. The sound startled me to the point of almost dropping my cup. A drowsy Joshua Dun slips into the kitchen. His eyes expand as he saw the meal."How did you learn to cook all.. This?"
His tiresome voice was hinted with amazement. I beam confidently at this."My mom taught me. I hope I didn't use too many ingredients.." My voice lowers as I speak the last sentence. He shook his head.
"No no it's fine. It looks delicious." He amusedly sat down at the counter.
I hand him a plate and grab my own. We start grabbing foods, yet abruptly stopped when we heard a creak in the other room."Who's here..?"
My voice was shaky, no matter how hard I tried to sound brave."Stay her-" Josh was interrupted by a tall dark haired woman entering the room. She yawns loud. I sat stiff, petrified.
"Mom..? When did you get back?" Josh's voice was relaxed. This caused me to relax as well.
His mom is here?
"Last night. Saw your car parked out in the yard, assumed you went back out into the woods like usual."
"Who're you?" My head shoots up towards her directional she spoke. She had a soft smile plastered onto her kind face.
"I-I'm-.. Im-"
"He's Tyler, my friend. He's gonna stay for a while. He cooked breakfast." I smile nervously, grateful for Josh's rescue. She smirked, her face resembled Josh's when he was smiling. I simper to myself.
She starts to speak,
"Woah. This is amazing! And you cooked this all yourself?! That's legit!"I couldn't help but laugh at her last comment. The resemblance between the two of them were uncanny besides their genders and age.
I handed her a plate and she thanked me generously. I give Josh his coffee and he took a sip.
"How'd you know I liked black coffee?"
His smile spreads across his face. I shrug,
"I'm just that cool."
