Josh's POV (extended)//

I tap my fingers on a bench as I wait for the girl to show up. Why did she want to talk to me? I continued the beat that I made, getting more and more into it as I went on. I lifted my head when I heard the clacking of heels on the sidewalk. I quickly stopped my actions and wiped my hands on my pants nervously. Seeing her made my mind wander back to Tyler's expression at lunch. I shook my head and locked eyes with the red-haired lady. She sits next to me and speaks before I can even open my mouth.
"So you're Joshua Dun. I saw you telling off Jenna at lunch."

Shit. She's probably angry... Oh fucking well! It's not my fault her friend harassed my-!.. I mean Tyler.

"Well I don't c-" She slammed her lips to mine, cutting me off. I had kissed my girlfriend  all the time at my old school but kissing a girl just felt, strange. I slowly adjust to her rhythm, kissing her back. I was confused but whatever was happening, it gave me those nervous butterflies. She pulled away. I dart my eyes to the ground.
"I think what you did was sexy.." She had a smirk on her pink lips. I feel my cheeks heat up.
"Do you wanna.. Wanna go out with me?"

Why would I ask that? What's wrong with me?

"Well of course." She responded rather fast.
I chewed the inside of my cheek after she kissed my cheek and left me sitting there. It seemed to be a bad habit of mine when I started thinking. For some reason, it felt wrong kissing her. Like she was just a friend. But I can't get the thought of finally being popular once again out of my head.

I used to be pretty popular at my old school. Everyone wanted to talk to me, and I did. The guys were kinda rude but I was always polite. I knew my place but I didn't take action on it. And now I'm not even there. I'm at my new school, with a new girlfriend and a new group. I smile at the thought, 'I'll be accepted again.' I stood up and walked back to the parking lot to get to my car. This is just the best day ever. I hope it continues like this. I open the door, bits of rain misting down. The mist soon turned to pouring rain. I pulled out of the lot and onto the road. On my way home I saw a small figure walking down the road. On closer inspection I saw it was Tyler's silhouette. I slow down and pull up near him.
"Hey! Ty-guy! Get in." He jumps and looks at me. I come to a full stop and he laughs slightly, shaking his head,
"You don't have to do that!" He yelled over the pounding of rain. It was my turn to shake my head,
"Just get in!" I yelled over the cackling of thunder. He quickly obliged, getting into the passenger seat. Another crack of thunder and he grips my jacket tightly, burying his head into my shoulder. My face grows bright pink at the feeling of his head on me.
"S-sorry.. Thunder just s-scared me.. It's uh a long story." He quickly moved when he looks up and made eye contact. Water soaked into my hoodie but I didn't really care, as long as Tyler felt safe. He apologized again for his soaking mess. I just laughed, "You don't have to say sorry, it's honestly no big deal."
He bit his lip roughly as he looked out the window, humming a tune I've never heard before. I drummed my fingers on the steering wheel to the rhythm of the song he hummed. He noticed and quickly stopped.
"Oh I'm sorry.." I felt stupid for adding on. He spoke,
"No no it's not your fault, I've just never hummed my music infront of other people." He turned towards me.
I pulled into my driveway,
"Oh frick.. I never asked where you lived. You can hang out at my place for a bit if you want."
Tyler just shrugged,
"I guess that's fine with me if it's fine with you."

I smile, getting out and opening the door for Tyler. Thunder cracked loudly, causing Tyler to collapse into my arms. He shook violently, and nuzzles his face into my chest. I held him tightly,
"I'm here Ty-guy.."
He looked up at me sheepishly,
"Is that my name now? Ty guy?" He smiles weakly. I smirk proudly,
"Well of course!"
He giggled against my chest. I didn't know what made me do it. Or what even made it the correct thing to do. It just felt so right. I lifted him up off the ground, holding his ass in my arms, he swiftly locked his arms around my back and legs wrapped against mine. He squealed when i did so.
"H-hey! What's this for..?!" His face buried in my neck.
"You're gonna ruin your shoes if you step in the mud and you're scared of the thunder so I thought I'd keep you safe."
We walk inside, I sit him on the couch.
"I'll go get you a towel and change of clothes." I spoke briefly, walking into my bedroom to grab on of my cat hoodies and a pair of floral black jeans. I wasn't sure if he'd like them but I'll give it a shot. I take my shirt off and throw it in the wastebasket. I grab a grey towel from my bathroom and another black one from my top shelf. I carry it into the living room and toss it into his lap, ruffling my hair with they grey towel. His face seems to darken into a ruby shade of red as he looks at me. I cock an eyebrow at me and he turns his eyes away,
"U-um where- where is your bathroom?" Tyler's voice was higher pitched and more quiet than before.
"Upstairs, 2nd door on the left." I respond, dragging the towel up and down my chest until I was dry.

After a short amount of time, Tyler walked back down the stairs, while I was on the tv. I looked up at him, gasping in awe. My giant jacket smothered him and the floral jeans fit to perfection. He looks up at me,
"I think this jacket is a lil big. But other than that they're pretty sick." He grinned, laughing faintly.
"You should smile more.." I said, overlooking his reddened face. He darted his eyes to the wall, his mouth twitching into a frown. I furrowed my eyebrows out of confusion. He turned back and smiled a fake smile before sitting back down on the couch.
"You okay..?" I sat beside him pausing the movie I started. He nodded quietly. I pulled out my phone and recorded a video of Tyler.
"Hey Ty-guy. Say hi to snapchatt!" I smile wide.
He couldn't help but laugh at this. I ended the recording and posted it. He pulled out his phone too. He started recording the empty space on the couch then to us saying, "So much couch available, and Josh is sitting right next to me." I chuckled and he broke out into a fit of giggles.
"Oh shut up!" I say, lightly shoving him. I grab the remote to start the movie when I hear a doorknob turn and a presence burst through the front door. It's my dad. Boys can't be close with other boys is what he always said. I froze in my spot, as my dad walked into the room.
