~Luc's POV~

As soon as she fell asleep I smile and take her hair out of her ponytail. She looks so beautiful with her hair this way, like a goddess. I stroke her hair softly, then stop when she stirs. She mumbles something, but I can't here her. She clutches onto my shirt and let's out a whimper.

How long has this been happening? I wonder if she's okay? Of course she's okay, it's just a dream.

"It's just a dream," I whisper in her ear.

She seems to relax a bit and let out a sigh of relief. I smile and kiss the top of her head.

I still can't believe I met her, this beautiful woman. Now that she's in my life I feel happy, I feel like I can smile all the time when she's around or when I think about her. And if anyone tries to take her away from me or harm her, I will not hesitate to rip their head off from their shoulders. I will make sure she stays happy, even if-

My phone vibrates in my pocket before I can think about the matter anymore.

I answer without looking at the caller I.D.

"Hello?"

"Lucifer, you need to get back home, now ," my father says sternly.

I look down at Stephanie, sleeping peacefully.

"What's going on," I ask, not wanting to leave her.

"We need to get ready for war," my father says, then hangs up.

"Shit," I curse under my breath.

"Luc," Stephanie asks quietly from next to me.

"Yeah beautiful," I say with a reassuring smile. Though I know it looks broken, because of the big news I was just informed about.

"Did something happen," she asks, her voice heavy with sleep.

"No," I need to spare her the news, "why would you think that?"

"You seem tense and agitated," she says.

"Well, you were the one having bad dreams and nearly tire my shirt off," I exaggerate.

"Sorry, I need to eat," she says.

"We can go downstairs, I'm sure no one is awake," I purse my lips together.

"No, I mean a soul, I'm hungry for a soul," she corrects, "I'll go later."

"Don't put it off for too long, you know the consequences," I frown.

"Yes, I know," she sighs, "but really, what's going on," she asks again.

Damn, she can see right through me. I'm not sure if this is good or bad. "Nothing is going on," I lie.

"Come on Luc, I know you're lying. Just tell me," she sits up to look down at me.

I let out a breath, "we're...going into war," I tell her.

I'm such an idiot. I couldn't just keep my mouth shut, I could've spared her this disastrous news, but no, I had to tell her and possibly scare the hell out of her.

"With Olympus," she brings her fingers to her lips, squeezing her bottom lip.

I really want to kiss her, but now obviously isn't the time. I just nod and sit up to somewhat meet her eye level; though I am taller than her.

"So what are we going to do," she asks, by the look in her eyes she's serious.

"There is no we, only a me and an army, along with my father," I say, "you will not get involved in this, not if I'm alive."
