~Luc's POV~
I let go of Stephanie and see her eyelids drooping a little. She must be tired.
"Come on," I say and help her off the table.
I carry her in my arms bridal style. She wraps her arms around my neck and slowly falls asleep as I walk back to my tent. I put her down on the pallet of soft animal skins. I lay next to her and put my arms around her. I will protect her and our child from everything. That threatens our family.
Funny how almost a couple months ago, I never would have imagined myself having a family or meeting a girl that I would die for.
She stirs in my arms and clutches at my shirt pretty tight. I smooth back her hair and her frowned features relax a bit. I kiss her forehead and she let's go of my shirt.
"Lucifer, we are ready to go," my father says and disappears.
I look down at Stephanie. I really don't want to wake her up, she looks so peaceful when she's asleep.
"Stephanie," I whisper in her ear and she wakes up instantly. She smiles and my heart warms up.
"Yeah," she asks, stretching a little.
"We have to go," I say with a smile.
She stands up and we both leave the tent and walk over to the horses.
I take her to a black horse with a black leather saddle and black leather reins.
I help her up and I get on behind her.
"Have you ever rode a horse before," I ask.
"No," she shakes her head.
I put the reins in her hands and put my hands over hers.
"These aren't ordinary horses, the rider commands the horse with his mind," I say in her ear.
She bites her lip and I can tell she is trying to command the horse.
I chuckle and let go of her hands. The horse goes forward and she laughs, but it stops.
"I think you should drive," she says and I take the reins. She let's go and snuggles back into my chest.
I smile and we go forward, following behind my father.
Stephanie is quiet the whole time and I'm starting to get a little worried. It's been almost five hours.
"Stephanie," I ask.
She hums.
"What are you thinking about," I ask.
"Just about our wedding and how amazing it'll be," she says with a smile.
I smile too, "I called some important people that I know, they'll be there. Like the leader of vampires, werewolves, sirens, and all the others. We can invite your parents if you want," I say.
"I would like that very much," she says.
"Good," I kiss the top of her head and she giggles.
I haven't heard her giggle in a while. It sounds nice. I nuzzle my lips in her neck and she laughs. A few soldiers look our way and I chuckle.
"How long does it take to get from Olympis to the Underworld," she asks.
"Almost a week, depending on our speed," I say.
She groans and I laugh. "This is going to take an eternity," she says.
"As long as I'm with you, I don't care," I say.
