~Luc's POV~
As soon as we sit down, Stephanie's mom brings in the food. It's lasagna, which looks very appealing. Stephanie's mom had actually hit on me, which is flattering, but I didn't like it. And by the look on Stephanie's face, she didn't like it.
I am sitting next to Stephanie, her mom and dad at the heads of the table, and her brother sitting in front of us, along with Jake. I don't know why he stayed, this doesn't concern him anymore, she's with me not him. I clench my fists under the table, I release a breath to cam down and unclench my hands and smile.
Stephanie looks worriedly and I take her hand and rub circles in her knuckles to show her I'm fine. She nods and squeezes my hand.
We pass the lasagna around the table like a normal family would.
"So Luc, what do your parents do," her father asks.
"Actually, he's retired, been for a while now," I say, which isn't completely a lie.
"How old are you," her mother asks.
"20 years old," I smile fakely.
"Well, you must have a job then, beig 20 and all," her dad says.
I chuckle, "I do, my father passed his business on to me. It's a very successful business," I say, then put a forkful of lasagna in my mouth.
"What about your mother," he asks.
"She doesn't work," I say.
"Do you have any siblings," her mother asks.
"No, I'm an only child," I nod. "And the lasagna is sublime," I compliment.
"Thank you, I made it myself," she blushes a little.
Stephanie kicks me under the table, though it doesn't hurt. I look over to ask her what she did that for.
"Don't encourage her," she whispers.
"I'm not," I whisper back.
"She's blushing," she points out.
"Everyone blushes at a compliment," I roll my eyes.
"Not my mother, she's a snob that gets them all the time. She's used to components."
I chuckle and shake my head, "stop worrying all the time."
She looks forward and sees Jake giving me dirty looks. I guess she kicks him under the table because he yells of an ow and gives her a confused look.
She gives him a look saying 'stop it' and I guess Conner kicks her by the way she winces and glares at him.
"You kids stop it," her Dad says.
Stephanie scoots closer to me, almost sitting on my lap and I smirk.
~Jake's POV~
I see the way she looks at him with such love, it breaks my heart. Now, I see her scoots closer to him and he smirks. He looks so dark and evil, I can't quite place it. He doesn't seem right for her.
Well, I ruined my chance when I slept with Taylor. I was actually surprised when Conner called me to hang out today and even invited me for dinner.
Everytime I see them together I feel like I could punch anything and just cry my eyes out. But I don't.
When we were together she never smiled at him the way she smiles at him or even laughed like she does now. What does he have that I don't? Maybe that sinister bad boy look girls love so much.
