( Sunnypaw ^^^^)
Chapter Eight
By the time it became sunrise, her camp was a muddy mess.
At the yowl that the rain had stopped, everyone had stuck their heads outside and rushed to help clean up.
Apprentices cleaned up twigs, branches, stray nests and prey from the prey pile flung in muddy puddles.
Warriors started hunting again. Even kits helped, rolling up moss into balls for the apprentices.
It had been quite a storm.
Lakestar and the deputy, Raindrizzle, were assigning hunting patrols to get prey and border patrols to remark borders.
Skypaw picked up another branch in her jaws. She used her tail to sweep up the fallen leaves.
Next to her, Honeypaw was hauling a branch and a few twigs on her back. She carried them over to the pile in the center of the clearing and threw it down.
Skypaw padded over and spat out the branches in her maw. "Bark tastes awful."
Honeypaw laughed. "Thien dunt poot dem en yuore mooth."
"Good tip." Skypaw said as she swept more leaves into a pile.
A cream warrior started to push some of the branches from the pile towards the entrance of camp. A completely black warrior rushed over. "Need help Creampelt?"
Skypaw sighed, looked around the half cleaned camp and decided to take a break. "Hey, Honeypaw?"
"Yuush?"
"Want to go hunting? I feel like the clan will need it." Skypaw nudged her "sister".
"Shure!" Honeypaw put down a branch and pelted towards the forest, Skypaw trailing behind.
They made a few trips back and forth between the camp and the forest. They hunted, then brought the prey back.
Soon, the prey pile was big and overstocked.
By now, Honeypaw and Skypaw were tired and starving. But they decided to go back for one last hunting trip.
Honeypaw crouched down and crept foward, stalking a mouse. She leapt foward and snapped the mouse's neck, killing it immediately.
"Nice!" Skypaw complimented.
"Yah, bute I um hangary." Honeypaw whined. "Ooo! Luke! Burries!"
Honeypaw rushed foward and bit off a few bright red berries from a stem. Those berries looked strangely familiar to Skypaw, but she couldn't put her paw on it.
Then her eyes widened. She just remembered. "HONEYPAW! DON'T EAT THAT-"
But she had already chewed and swallowed a few and was in the middle of taking more, but she froze. "Whi? Whuts tee mater-"
Honeypaw gasped. Her eyes bugged out and she fell to the ground, her limbs flailing around.
She started wheezing, she couldn't breathe. Her eyes flickered over the Skypaw. They said,"Help me."
Skypaw rushed over and tried to help her. But she couldn't figure out how.
But, before she could get help, Honeypaw just stopped moving, her lifeless, dead cold eyes stared blankly at her.
Skypaw felt the sharp sting of bile rise up in her throat. After throwing up, she stared at her "sister's" dead body.
Tears rose up against her own will. Choking back a sob, she hoisted Honeypaw's cold, lifeless body on her back and raced back to camp.
For some reason, Skypaw was hit with a sense of deja vu.
She dropped Honeypaw's body in the center of camp (which created a lot of attention), raced into the apprentice denand curled up in her nest, hoping to hide from the horrible truth.
She heard voices out in the clearing, as more frequently, she heard loud gasps and cries of surprise.
Then, someone (presumably Patchleaf) announced the dreaded words. "H-honeypaw... is... dead..."
It was silent, then a loud wail was heard, then sobbing. It was probably Tabbyheart.
Another sob joined her. Honeypaw's mentor prehaps?
Skypaw got up and poked her head out. Lakestar, Tabbyheart, Speckleclaw and Skyview were mourning for Honeypaw.
Skypaw launched herself out and basically threw herself on Honeypaw. Tabbyheart gasped, but didn't do anything. She just resumed crying.
After a while of mourning, Lakestar sighed, sniffed then stepped back. "Let's let the elders bury her now."
Skypaw shook her head, but Tabbyheart, Speckleclaw and Skyview reluctantly agreed.
"Silverpaw..." Skyview said softly.
Skypaw shook her head stubbornly. Skyview sighed and gestured Speckleclaw to do something.
Speckleclaw nodded and grabbed Skypaw by her scruff. Skypaw struggled and yelled.
But the elders rushed over and dragged Honeypaw away. Skypaw kicked and screamed. She kicked Speckleclaw and she let go of her.
Skypaw tried to run after Honeypaw but Tabbyheart stopped her, with a pained look in her eyes. "Silverpaw."
"What?!" She hissed and tried to step around Tabbyheart.
"Silverpaw, sweetie. Honeypaw, she's, gone..." Tabbyheart whispered.
"......" Skypaw collasped on the ground and started to cry.
She didn't even know why she was so upset. Honeypaw wasn't even her real sister. But she couldn't help thinking of her real sister. Mosspaw.
"C'mon, let's go." Tabbyheart led her to the medicine cat den. Patchleaf was waiting for her with some poppy seeds and chamomile and dandelion leaves to calm her down.
Skypaw gulped down the herbs then took a poppy seed. Then, Skypaw fell asleep.

"Ha ha! That's so funny Logpaw!" That's what Skypaw heard when she had woken up.
Skypaw stuck her head outside the den and saw Logpaw and a pretty golden shecat with deep blue eyes.
"Thanks, Sunnypaw." Logpaw said, and twined his tail with Sunnypaw's. "I really like you, Sunnypaw."
Skypaw felt anger rise up in her. No, not jealousy. She was mad because yesterday Logpaw was "totally in love" with Honeypaw.
That two timing jerkfaced foxheart! Stupid, mousebrained player.
"I like you too." Sunnypaw sighed.
Skypaw wanted to stalk right over there and claw Logpaw's face off.
But, that would be for later. Revenge would come for Logpaw.
