(A/N) Okay so you guys are so amzing for getting me a 130 reads and 21 votes! Luv u guys!! I hope you can continue to show your support! I've been up all night finishing this chapter. Updates may take longer after this though, gotta start studying because my ranking dropped in my class. Haha, I can be nerdy at times, so sue me :)

I think I said enough. The video on the side, Demons by Imagine Dragons is sort of perfect for Daniel Haynes, especially the chorus I think...unless I somehow translated the lyrics wrongly.

Chapter 7

This was serious - I couldn't show my face to the world again, especially not Haynes. Definitely not Haynes! What was I going to do?

I tried not to think about what happened in the car and focused on the situation at hand, the problem being mum. She would go commando on me and start barking and yelling in my face. So I should say my goodbyes to the world. Farewell my non-existent friends, farewell Ryan and mum and dad. On the bright side, at least I wouldn't have to face Daniel and the humiliation that comes with it at school because by then I would have been buried six feet under ground.

I knocked on the door and waited with bated breath, counting down the seconds to my doom. The door swung open almost immediately and an angry but dishevelled looking mum yelled, 'Where have you been?!'

She didn't even give me a chance to explain before hauling me into the living room, and with a gesture, forced me to sit on the couch and endure her scolds. I spotted Ryan standing wide-eyed on the stairs, too afraid to get close to a furious mum in case he gets dragged into the chaos.

'But mum, it wasn't my fault,' I explained calmly to her. 'Daniel didn't tell me anything about staying overnight so I-'

Mum cut in faster than a bullet train. 'I don't care about what your boyfriend did,' I grimaced and wanted to point out to her that Daniel and I weren't even close to friends but it wasn't the best time to interrupt. 'What I want to know is why you didn't just give me a call? Was that that too hard, Rebecca? One little call to assure me that you hadn't been kidnapped, yet you didn't! Does your father know about this? I'm going to call him.'

'Mum!' I held up my hands in a placating manner. 'I tried to call you, but my phone died. I even did CPR on it but it wouldn't work.' Okay, actually that excuse was not legit. My phone was obsolete today, I could've called mum yesterday night, but I was too caught up in the fact that I have to sleep in the same house as Haynes that I wasn't thinking straight.

Mum raised an eyebrow and finally went, 'I don't know what you're talking about. And what's that on your nose? Did you fall? I told you to-' and that's the part where I zoned out. Mum's talks could last for an hour.

Ryan wasn't much help either, wasn't that what elder brothers were for? He came up to me after mum's lecture and said, 'Nice scar. Did Daniel punch you in the face because he thought you needed a makeover?' See? No sympathy or whatsoever. Ryan didn't stop there, he wanted to know all about Daniel Haynes, the billionaire's son. 'Is it true he owns ten cars? How was the flight on his private jet? You met Branson Haynes?! Was he a cold-blooded alien?'

Actually now that Ryan had mentioned Daniel's father being a possible cold-blooded alien, the picture was getting clearer - Daniel Haynes was a half-alien spawn! Dun dun dun! 'Mr Haynes was really nice, surprisingly.' I said and noticing how unoccupied Ryan was, I had an idea and rummaged through my bag for my History essay which I had half-written in the plane. I handed him the papers and smiled sweetly, saying, 'Since you have nothing better to do, you can help me write my essay. It has to be ten pages long, so that makes it another seven more pages to go.'

I regretted it after that because Ryan came knocking at my door the next day with that all-too-innocent smile on his face and said, 'Becky! Have I mentioned how pretty you look today?' It sounded too cheerful - something was definitely up.
