(A/N) I can't help but feel like the story is getting too rushed...I dunno. Well, I hope you enjoy it anyway. Thank you for reading btw :)

Chapter 19

A few months back in my old school and everything was going fine. I had my two besties still, Kim and Georgia. I was finishing my senior year and things were running smoothly. I hadn't thought about Daniel or Maybrooks at all, which was a good sign of getting over things.

Examinations were a killer but I'd live. You'd be surprise what it did to certain people. A kid opened his test paper and started banging his head against the table. I was confident that I would pass all my exams, but I would be keeping my fingers crossed anyway because I needed to get into a good college. I had a inkling that mum might throw me into the streets if I had bad grades.

'Oh my gosh, he's so gorgeous,' Kim sighed as she buried her face in a magazine. What could I say? Exams were finally over and I felt like I had a little Independence Day party in my head. High school was nearly over and though it wasn't the smoothest roller-coaster ride, or the one I had expected, I was still going to miss it.

'Watch it, Kim!' I warned as a spoonful of yoghurt nearly fell over the front of her shirt. 'Seriously, who are you gawking at that is so drool worthy?' I grabbed the magazine from her and had a good look myself and regretted it.

Damn! It was a large face close-up of Daniel Haynes. Not only that, he looked really hot with his hair all messed up and his intense green eyes. Just when I thought he was behind me, then his face has to pop up again.

No, no, no.

I held tightly to the side of the page and ripped it off before crumpling it and tossing it into the bin. 'We're are not going to talk about him! No more dreaming about him and no more making kissing faces at his pictures!'

'Okay, okay!' Kim said in a defensive tone. 'Touchy much. It's not my fault you broke up with your boyfriend.'

'Daniel was not my boyfriend!' I went exasperatedly.

'Then that girl on TV looked a hell lot like you,' she muttered.

'Yeah,' Georgia agreed. 'It's like you've changed since you'd came back from whatever it was that you came from.'

Before I could answer back, a large crowd consisting of reporters, cameramen and students broke into the cafeteria room. There were a lot of flashes - people taking pictures and the centre of the crowd was the main attraction.

I frowned and said, 'What's happening there?'

'If I'm not mistaken,' Georgia said casually. 'That is Haynes-'

'Haynes?' I cut in, my heart started beating really fast at the mention of the name. There should be a lot of people by the name Haynes, not just that certain family I had in mind which I dreaded to meet.

'-yes, Branson Haynes and I think, his niece,' Georgia continued. 'They're just checking out our school. Apparently Mr Haynes has decided to give a huge sum of donation to the school.' She slowly picked out the pickles from her salad and pushed it aside.

'Well, you're awfully calm about it,' I said.

'Kim has already went,' Georgia pointed out which was true. Kim had pulled out her phone as well and threw herself into the crowd.

'Oh my gosh, they're coming this way!' I squeaked as the crowd neared our table. 'Hide me!' I dove under the table and stayed there until they disappeared. 'I'm calling mum,' I muttered as I got out from under the table. 'They are not going to barge into my life again.'
