JAKE

There's only two more days left of summer which leaves only two more days until hell begins; school.

And how am I spending my second last day you ask? I'm walking around the park, alone. I mean don't get me wrong, I've gotten plenty of offers from girls to hang out. But they'll just talk about their problems and how blah blah blah did this and blah blah did that. Not my kind of scene.

"Yo jake!" Someone called out.

I stop walking and turn around immediately, almost snapping my neck in the process. My friend Jason is running towards me at full speed. I watch him getting closer, and closer.

He stops in front of me, his hands on his knees while breathing heavily.

"What do you want?" I bark.

He's trying to get words out but he barely has enough air in his lungs to speak.

"Are you good man?" I ask him.

"Y-yeah just give me a," he inhales and exhales a deep breath, "second."

My God you are one unfit human being.

He wipes the sweat off of his forehead and stands up straight.

"Have you heard?" He asks me.

"Heard what? That you hooked up with Amanda?" I ask him.

"No no no, that's old news!" He laughs. "I'm talking about the new girl who's going to move in next door to you!"

"What? You mean the old lady? Mrs. Archer?" I furrow my brows in confusion.

"No! You dumbass!" He yells. "Her name is Paisley, their granddaughter, and she is H-O-T." He says, his mouth opening wide when he says 'O'.

"How do you know? Have you seen her?"

"Yeah dude, I checked her out on Insta, and damn she is smokin'!"

"How do you know she's the right one? And where did you get this info?"

"I got it from her cousin, Alexa. She said her mother just died and now she's moving in with her grandparents, right next to you." He winks. "Anyway, trust me it's the right one. Alexa showed it to me and erthang'."

"I'm not down to listen to anyone's sob stories, and to me, it seems like she has lots."

"I would listen to her all day if I get to tap that ass!"

"You're a piece of shit, you know that?"

"I've been told," he says proudly. "well if you don't want her, I'll have her."

"Why would I care?" I ask him.

"You always get first dibs on girls. You've fucked half the girls in our school." He shrugs.

"Whatever I don't care, go for it." I turn around and wave my hand in the air.

I mean everything he said was true. I have fucked half the girls in our school, but they were all meaningless. I know you think I'm an asshole but I told them beforehand that I do not do relationships and they were more than eager to jump into bed with me. This is the first time that I've turned down a hot girl, who I've never seen before but knowing Jason... Let's just say he's a reliable source.

When he said that her mother died, I was out. I did not want anything to do with that. I'm sorry, I mean her. Like I said, I don't do relationships and if she starts to tell me personal shit, I'll become important to her and then I'll become apart of her sad, miserable life.
