PAISLEY

"Paisley! Wake the fuck up!"

Who the fuck?

I groggily open my eyes and rub away the sleep in my eyes.

When I have finally opened my eyes to their fullest capacity, I jump awake with a startle.

"What are you doing here?" I ask.

He scoffs. "Shouldn't you be asking yourself that instead?"

What?

My eyes scan my surroundings and that's when realization dawns on me that this was not my house.

"Jake..."

He grabs two beers from his fridge, and offers me one.

I shake my head no.

"C'mon just try it, I insist," He glowers at me with pleading eyes.

Oh screw it. One beer isn't going to kill me.

Cancer will.

I grab the drink from his hand, pop it open, and take a huge swig.

"Woah, slow down there lightweight," he teases.

I furrow my eyebrows and pucker my lips.

"How would you even know if I'm a lightweight or not? You've never even seen me drink before, buddy."

I take another massive swig of my beer and gulp it down.

"Look at the size of you, you're bound to be a lightweight," he smirks and then takes a swig of his beer.

"Oh yeah? Look at the size of you, you're not much bigger than I am," I taunt.

He stands up immediately, probably to show me how much "bigger" he is compared to me.

"Excuse me? I'm pretty sure I'm looking down on you right about now."

"Only because you're standing up!" I respond.

"Then why don't you stand up? Show me the difference between you and me," he challenges with a devious smile on his face.

"Ha! You think I'm that childish? Sit your ass down, Jake!"

He chuckles lightly and smiles at me before sitting his ass back down.

"That's what I thought Paisley," he smugly says.

I cower away and bite my lip from the embarrassment of losing an argument with Jake.

"My legs are sore that's all," I pathetically excuse my way out of this embarrassment.

"Sore huh? Been spending a lot of time with–"

My face turns sour just by the mere thought of that sentence being prolonged any further with what I know for a fact would be one of the most vile and crude remarks he would bestow upon me. Just when I thought he couldn't get any worse.

"Don't even think about finishing your disgusting sentence," I warn him.

He lowers his head and jokingly puts his hands up in surrender, as if surrendering in a war.

"Okay, okay, okay Paisley. Calm down just jokes," he says whilst giving me a guilty smile.

"That's what I thought, Rollins," I threw his words right back at him, throwing him a look of victory in the process.

He looks back at me with a look full of mischief, and slowly moves his body and face towards mine, with threatening eyes.

"I just like getting a reaction out of you. The funny thing is you like to intimidate people, I've observed that. And you try to intimidate me, but you don't. At all. And that makes you mad, doesn't it?" He glowers down at me with a mischievous look on his face.
