A/n: I know a lot of Labyrinth stories have the parents dead (or at least from what i've read) but it's just easier to not have them in the picture and Toby living with Sarah.
Sarah's POV
I was cleaning my room, when I came across an old diary of mine. I flipped through it when I came across one particular entry.
"Dear diary,
You would not believe what happened to me today! I had the most magical time!"
I skimmed through my very lengthy description of the Labyrinth, and basically skipped to the end.
"I can't keep him out of my head. I feel bad, I know I hurt him deeply when I didn't want to stay with him. But I wasn't going to let him turn Toby into a goblin! I did what I know is right! But he was just... there's no words to describe him. Not to mention his tight spandex pants... and those eyes! He had beautiful hair, and wacky eyebrows, and his voice... I can't stop thinking about how he was right about being generous. He watched me the whole time and made sure nothing too bad could get me. He took such good care of Toby, that I think Toby misses him. He kept crying again, so I made him a little doll that looks like Jareth. He loves that doll to death! The worst part about it is that I can't tell anyone about him. Or the Labyrinth, for that matter. I really miss the others too, I hope everything's well with them. I really wish there was some way too--"
Toby walked in and I slammed the diary shut.
"Whatcha hindin' Sarah??" Toby tried to reach for the diary. There was noooo way I was gonna let him see that. Last thing he needs to think that I'm crazy. But Toby got hold of it anyway and went pale.
"This makes so much sense..." He mumbled, barely even audible.
"What did you say?"
"Nothing, nothing... Nothing tra la la."
"How'd you-"
"Nevermind. Forget I said it..."
"Toby! Where did you hear that?"
"Promise you won't laugh?"
"I promise"
"Well there's this dream I keep having..."
"Yeah..."
"And, I don't know... It matches your so called 'Labyrinth'. We're both in it, but I'm only a baby, and you're a teenager. Then me and this Jareth guy watch you go through his Labyrinth and it ends the same every time. We get home safely, and everything returns to normal."
"How often do you have these dreams Toby?"
"Every so often. Mostly when I'm over stressed or in trouble at school. I dunno, it just gives me a sense that Jareth is still watching over us, ya know?"
"I know. Because I have those dreams too."
"Y-you do?"
"All the time."Jareth's POV
I'm sick and tired of giving Toby and Sarah the same dreams all the time. I need to change it up a bit. I need to let them know I'm coming. I've waited long enough for Sarah. But I can't go to her as Jareth the Goblin King. No, not yet. I have to win her heart better than before. This time, I'll succeed. I need a name. David. David Bowie. Yeah, there's nobody with that name. (note that David isn't famous in this story) Now, I need a look. I should look sophisticated, yet charming, a little rugged. My hair, a little ruffled, but reasonable. I need to blend in with the surroundings. Oh! I know, Toby's school is in need of a new principal, and I happen to know that there's an apartment building with great looking apartments next to Sarah and Toby's house. Ok, I need to set out an announcement to the Goblins that I'll be gone for a while. I'm sure that Didymus fellow would just be tickled if I let him help being in charge. Once that's taken care of, all I need is to go and start this 'new life' as David Bowie.
