Sarah's POV:
"Hello, Sarah, is everything ok?"
"I, well, um, not really."
"A lot has happened since you last saw me, is that right?"
"You have no idea. I probably should've come to you sooner, but I didn't want you to think I was relapsing."
"Well, start from the beginning, Sarah, and let's work our way through it. If we have a problem, we can fix it. That's what I'm here for."
"Well, about six months ago, Toby said that a new principal was coming to our school. He said that he wanted everyone have a conference with him, to get to know everybody, but I really think he just wanted me to meet him. He said there was something familiar about him, but I didn't want to think about it. But, as time went on, David and I got closer, and we started dating. Toby and Sam developed feelings around the same time. It was a big adjustment for us. Toby's first girlfriend, and my first boyfriend since our parents died. But, uh, it seems to be that Toby and Sam moved faster than we did, because they have a long history, and one night, Toby, Sam and Josh got into a car accident. Ah man, Reese, I've never been so scared in my life. The minute David got to the hospital, he demanded he saw Toby, even though only family was allowed to see him. When the doctors came out to tell us how everyone was, he told us some good but surprising news. Sam is pregnant, with Toby's child. She's now four, almost five months along, and the next ultrasound, they find out the sex of the baby. But, at the time, the news of the pregnancy hit everybody hard. Toby and I had a huge fight about why he was even having sex in the first place. Toby decided that he couldn't simply live with the new rules I laid down for him, so he decided to live with David, and he still is now, it's closer to Sam's than our place is anyway. But when David came over to talk about Toby's living situation, he told me something that made me come here today. He told me... He told me, that he was Jareth."
"Wow. And, do you believe him?"
"I believe that I love him. And, I know, we spent so much time moving away from that whole thing, but I can't help but think what he said, almost kind of makes sense."
"And why would that be?"
"I mean, it explains the familiarity, the dreams, it kind of just pulls everything together. After everything we've been through, it feels like the last piece of the puzzle."
"Sarah, do you really think it's smart to undo all these years of trying to overcome everything now? You're about to become an aunt, Sarah. You cannot let yourself get out of hand, do you want to become institutionalized?"
"No, but I-"
"Why do you trust him so much?"
"Because I do, Reese! You have been a great friend to me over the years, and I've counted on your advice for everything. David changed my life. He made me feel all sorts of happy that I haven't felt in far too long. I will be careful, Reese, I will. I need to go with my gut on this one, and I need you to support me, okay?"
"Of course, Sarah. I apologize for getting a little overworked. But I do need to make sure you stay in check. This seems a little unusual, and I think you should start seeing me more often again, once a week, perhaps, and fill me in so we can talk soon, alright? I want what's best for you Sarah, and only you can decide what path you choose, understand?"
"Yes, sir. I think your plan sounds just fine. I'll see you same time, next week, alright? It was splendid talking to you again." I gave Dr. Willy a hug, and he led me out.
Once I got in my car, I checked my phone to find that David had texted me, saying that he wanted to see me at his place right away. "David? Is everything okay?" I said once I got there, knocking on the door.
"David?" I knocked again.
"Hello, my love." David said to me, sweeping me inside.
"How are you, is there something wrong?"
"No, nothing at all, love, I just wanted to see you." He ran his fingers down my jaw and kissed me.
"God, I love you, you know that right?"
"I love you more,"
"I love you most." We kissed again, and remained in an embrace.
"Would you like some tea?"
"I would love some, thanks baby."
"Sarah!" Toby said, making his way from his room. "I didn't know you were going to stop by!" My brother came up to give me a hug.
"Hey, Tobes, how are you doing? I know today's been long."
"Long doesn't even begin to describe it, sis. But yet, I'm not at all surprised. Brittany would do anything to take a jab at poor Sam. She's been jealous of her since the first day of kindergarten. The poor girl was sobbing all day, I asked David if she could come over, now she's asleep on my bed. I can't wait until next week, when we have the ultrasound. I think one we figure out what we're having, we can start buying clothes, and toys and stuff, we can delve even further into names, what color to paint the nursery, the only thing on our minds will be our baby. Honestly, I was really scared at first. Sam and I had only just started dating when we became pregnant, but the connection's been there since day one, ya know? I was terrified, we're only sixteen, I didn't think I'd be able to handle it. But now, I'm ready. Seeing Sam have our child grow inside her, she's never looked so beautiful. I love her, Sarah, I love her, and our baby so much, and I haven't even met it yet. When I realized how much love I have for them, that's when I figured out that I was ready. I am ready to face every challenge that comes our way. We'll find a way to deal with Brittany, what she did was infuriating, but I have an idea on how to get back at her without letting things getting messy."
