-September 2nd, 1991-
"Wake up Petunia, we're going to miss breakfast!" Hemione said, shaking her shoulders."Alright, alright! I'm up," Petunia grumbled, sitting up in her bed. She quickly got out of bed, pushed her cat off her chest (to Gaia's annoyance), changed and joined Hermione as they walked down to the great hall. They sat with Percy and the twins on the bench and piled pancakes high on their plates. She took her first bite as Professor McGonagall came walking past, sliding a piece of paper beside Petunia.
"Oh, looks like we've got charms first." Hermione grinned, picking up the piece of paper McGonagall had handed her. Petunia looked at the paper and saw it was her timetable. She glanced over the words.

6:00-8:00: Dinner"Okay, well we better get going." Petunia said, looking around at the other students standing up to head to class. She followed Hermione out and they quickly became hopelessly lost. They tried retracing their steps but the staircase they had just taken had moved to the other side of the room.
"Oh no! That staircase only moves every hour!" Hermione groaned, grabbing Petunia's hand and leading her off to look down the hallway. They peeked in every window to see if their class was there but none of them contained any first years. Finally, after a left, right, and a U-turn they found their class.
"Harry Pot-" Petunia flung the door open, scaring the tiny Professor off of his stack of books and behind his desk. Hermione rushed in to help him, giving Petunia time to take a seat next to Ron.
After that event the rest of the morning was very dull. All that happened that first Charms class was notes and about 15 minutes of lecturing them about how they were expected to behave. History of Magic was taught by a ghost who probably had lived through the events he droned on about, his lecture so boring Professor Binns himself looked as if he was about to fall asleep.
After lunch Petunia and Hermione decided to follow their classmates and were happy that they knew where to go.
"That was a good idea, trailing our classmates." Petunia said, giving Hermione a friendly smile.
"Thanks, now lets sit down before all the seats are taken!" Hermione lead her inside, chosing desk which sat side by side. Everybody chatted a little until Professor McGonagall stood.
"Transfiguration is some of the most complex and dangerous magic you will learn at Hogwarts, " she said. "Anyone messing around in my class will leave and not come back. You have been warned. "Then she changed her desk into a pig and back again. After taking more notes than Petunia had ever imagined she could make in a day, she received a match to try to turn it into a needle.
By the end of the lesson, only Hermione had successfully turned her match into a needle. Petunia had turned it silver, while Ron had somehow managed to give it feet and now the needle was nowhere to be found.
The whole class was buzzing with excitement for their final lesson of the day; Defence Against the Dark Arts was supposed to be the most exciting class according to her brothers. But, Professor Quirrel was very much a let down and was all t-t-talk and no bite. He wouldn't even share the story of how he got the turban he wore. The only interesting thing Petunia noticed was the veins on her wrists, and most likey her hands, glowed a sickly green everytime Professor Quirrel turned around.
Even Hermione, who found Professor Binns class entertaining, couldn't find anything interesting about Quirrel's lesson.
"He didn't teach us anything!" She groaned. "Even when asked a direct question he got that look of terror on his face and avoided answering!" Petunia nodded in agreement, completely bummed out that her first day at Hogwarts was so bland.
Petunia ate her dinner in silence and went to bed early. She ignored the history homework she had and fell asleep, her last thought that maybe tomorrow would be better.
