“Straighten out your back Preston! It won’t look good unless you straighten out your back and relax your shoulders.”  Jenna shouts at me.  There are only three weeks left until our production of Swan Lake.  With everything that has been going on, the last thing I need is her screaming at me.

“Preston, don’t make me tell you one more time to fix your god damn shoulders.”  The look in her face changes from aggravated to pissed. I try once more to change my posture, and finally she is satisfied.  Wesley and I have almost finished our song for the midterm exam which is in approximately two weeks.  Drew and I are talking again like nothing ever happened.  I tell him that I was just very sick and he still to this very minute believes that I was feeling ill.  I know I shouldn’t lie to my boyfriend.  I do feel guilty considering the fact that every time we kiss, I feel guilty.

“Alright let’s take it from the top!  Remember to count your mistakes as you go along.” Jenna turns on the music, crosses her arms and sits back to watch us all fail.  The thing with Jenna is that we could be doing everything correctly, but she will see it as incorrect until the night of the concert.  Okay Preston, don’t mess up.  If you mess up, she will give your spot to someone else, someone that doesn’t deserve it as much as you do.

Jenna turns off the music after about thirty seconds and starts screaming “I don’t understand why you all can’t just get it right!  You know what I don’t even want to deal with this tomorrow.  All of you better be warmed up and ready an hour earlier tomorrow or you’re out of the production.”  And with that being said, she picks up her cd player and walks right out of the studio into her office.

Everyone is bustling around the studio trying to leave as fast as they can because everyone knows that when she’s in a bad mood, she starts to cry and no one wants to be the last one here to clean up the mess.  Lucky for me, I’m wearing my bad flats so instead of changing into my shoes I run outside to my car.  When I get into my car, I reach for my black converse that I have under the passenger seat of my car.  I didn’t have time to change, and I’m supposed to be meeting Drew at his house for dinner in about half an hour so I don’t have time to go home.

“Call Drewbear.”  I command after pressing the little phone button on the wheel.

“Calling Drew.”  The automated system calls back.  After a few rings Drew picks up.

“Don’t tell me you’re canceling on my Preston, because I would just have to go over to your house and literally drag you out.”

“Babe, I’m not canceling why would you think that?”

“Um, maybe because that’s what you did last time, and the time before that.”  He lets out a sigh.  “I’m sorry, I just really want to spend some time with you.”

“I’ll be there in a bit okay?  I’ll talk to you then.”

“Alright.”  He says and then he hangs up the phone.  I turn into the driveway and check my face in the mirror before getting out.  I knock on the door and don’t stop until Drew opens it.

“Wow, hello there my little ballerina.”  Drew winks at me which makes me chuckle and brings me in for a kiss.  His soft lips touch mine ever so slightly until we’re interrupted by a Keaton.

“Hey guys can you move out of the door way I’m kind of running late.  I’m going to Tyler’s.”  Drew lets go of me to let Keaton out of the house.  He waves goodbye at us before leaving.
