Phone Calls + Please Hold.

Is it just me, or does everyone hate it when strangers call you? No, I'm not talking about when someone calls the wrong number, that's fine, I don't mind that.

It's when either those stupid survey people or sellers call you that piss me off. No, I do not want to buy anything. No, I do not want to answer a survey.

I know this is rude and all, but I usually just hang up. Sometimes, I want to tell the person, "No, I'm sorry, I don't want to take the survey," or something, but they drone on and on, so I don't have a moment to interrupt. I feel awkward just sitting there with the phone to my ear and not saying anything, and it irks me that they don't even ask if I want to take the survey before they begin explaining.

Another thing, you know how people ask you to "Please hold," when you make a call and they're doing something? Being the polite people we are, we always reply, "Yes."

What if someone said no?

Like, can you imagine that?

A person says, "Could you please hold?"

"No."

What do you think they would do? Hang up on you saying, "Oh, sorry then," or something like, "Oh, okay, I'll help you now then."

I've always wanted to test that theory out, but I've never actually had someone tell me to hold. Now, I'm not influencing or telling you to do this, but next time someone says to hold, IF you feel like it, and you end up saying no... Well, could you tell me what happens after? It's something I'm curious about.

Curiosity killed the cat, but remember, cats have nine lives.

I can't believe I just thought of that. I feel like such a boss right now. I feel like a genius. Making myself proud. LOL.

Anyway, Lottie's going to post this now. I really need to stop coming up with names for myself. It only works because people don't actually call me Charlotte.
