not throwing so much as a single look my way while he did so. Instead his beady gaze trained on Bellamy's shirtless figure with an amount of hate strong enough to move a mountain.
"Is this what you want?" Jaha's scratchy voice reached my ears, laced with underlining disbelief. He flailed his arms to the group of boys cowering over the heap of extra clothes, saddened with the fact it's only been a day and there's delinquents succumbing to the laws of survival of the fittest. "Chaos?"
Bellamy showed less than an interest to the actual problem at hand. "What's wrong with a little chaos?" He swiftly glanced in my direction with a boyish smirk. Like the boys willing to kill each other for a bonus pair of boots is okay.
But it's not okay.
No matter how tempting it sounds, Chaos has no meaning. And with lack of meaning comes lack of reason. It's the forbidden fruit in the garden of eden.
If someone as simple minded as the Blake before me can't grasp the concept that chaos isn't always good, than he should learn the consequences first hand.
So imagine the shock absorbed expression of Bellamy's face when I didn't return the sarcastic laugh he was expecting but rather a stoic look and the chilling one-liner, "Everything."
He didn't get a chance to retaliate in defense of his ego because a loud shriek rung in the air.
The scream echoed with intense levels of fear, shifting the normality of the setting. It nicked me down to the bone and gave it a little shake, giving my feet the added courage to scamper towards the cry.I was lead to a clearing, faced with Murphy entangling himself In the arms of a girl dangling over a small fire pit. The smile he wore was exaggerated by the flames peeking from beneath twigs, licking the girl's frightened face with its heat. Nonetheless it disgusted me so I only found it reasonable to shove him away. The girl twisted her leg as Murphy attempted to bring her down with him. She grazed over my helping hand that stood offered in her sights for less than a second before grabbing hold. In that moment, someone didn't hesitate to be near me because of what I did. In that moment the past was thrown away to oblivion and all that was there was gratitude.
"What the hell, John! Are you serious?!"
At his spot on the ground, Murphy rolled in the dirt with gritted teeth to ease the pain and anger bubbling inside. It didn't even cross my mind the growing group of people watching would find the commotion the least bit interesting, putting him in an embarrassing position.
