Kate's POV:

The car violently stopped in the middle of my driveway to my apartment. I was still for a moment.

"Niall, it's just coffee" I blurted out of nowhere.

"I know. But you could always say no and come back home with me?" His face was so apologetic.

"It's okay. I can handle myself. Trust me. Why would I want harry when you as perfect as it can get" I wanted to do everything to make sure Niall knew that I only cared about him. "Trust me" I didn't bother leaning in for a kiss at this point.

He just sat and stared ahead. I walked out of the car, closing the door louder.

---------------------------------------------

I sat in the living room alone, watching the clock to turn to '12'. I had changed from my Niall's shirt and slacks to jeans and a crew neck. I wasn't that nervous about hanging out with harry, just all the hate I will get for being around another band member. It wasn't normal for the girlfriend of Niall from one direction to be hanging out with other guys without getting hate. I knew it was coming, I just didn't know when.

At exactly 12 I heard a hushed knock, which was hard to hear if the tv was on. I stood up hesitating to open the door. The door swung opened gently and slower than ever. His smirk grew, dimples following.

"Afternoon" it could not have been more creepy. I shyly smiled. I was too gawky to look him in the eyes, no the met ion is height. "Shall we go?" He offered me his hand.

"Nice try bud" I sassed him and walking passed him. We had been friends for the longest time, but without someone to say something, it was just weird. I easily spotted Harry's black escalade, walking in front of him, I had reached the car before him.

"Feisty aren't we?" He winked, grabbing his keys. I rolled my eyes, not expecting less from him. His car was clean, not a single dust was spotted.

"So, where you this morning?" I thought of the most random thing to ask, regretting it seconds after.

"What do you mean?"

"All the boys were over this morning. At Niall's?" Trying to jog his memory.

"I don't believe anyone told me" I don't know if I was supposed to tell him or not, but I felt this was something personal, so I didn't ask anymore questions after that.

We stopped on the side of the rode, of corse being mauled by fans, but it wasn't as bad this time because I was actually starting to get noticed now, a lot are hate though.

"Sorry about this" he pulled out a chair in the inside of Starbucks.

"It's fine, I'm starting to get used to it" I guaranteed him.

A couple coffee and stupid jokes later, it wasn't that bad. We had sat in the back, so we wouldn't get disrupted or anything. As soon as it got quiet I broke the silence with the question that has been on my chest the whole afternoon.

"So, why did you actually ask me out for coffee, honestly" I sternly asked, all joking aside. His face stiffened. He licked his lips before speaking.

"Honestly?" He asked staring for an answer. I nodded in confrontation. "I just wanted to hang out with you" he leaned back and took another sip of his already cold cup of coffee. I rudely laughed at his answer. "What?"

"That's so fake" I straightened my back, moving my chair in.

"It's not like in trying to get with Niall's girl" for once he was actually serious and defending his word. My phone rung loud enough to break the questioning stares. It was Niall.

"Speaking of the devil" Harry joked.

"Hello?" I switched my body around, not staring at the tall curly headed boy. "Why?" All Harry could hear was muffled voices, which made him roll his eyes. "Alright" was my final word before hanging up.

"What was that about?" He questioned staring at the corner wall.

"Nothing. But can you take me home now?" I asked apologetic.

"Sure" he sounded more than happy.
