Sitting there with her in his arms and surrounded by his friends he suddenly feels alone, and helpless. He cannot stop thinking of her. He had never seen anyone so wounded, so... broken and it hurt him. But Why? He'll probably never know.
As if his friends part like the red sea he sees her. He notices her. But again something is different about her. She is smiling and carrying on, possibly just a little too much. But yet again as he is watching her, observing her, he sees her for who she really is. Her eyes and smile defy her to him and when he is looking at her no one else notices. How can they not see the look of sorrow in her eyes, her smile isn't real, it is as if she is wearing a mask every day and no one but he can notice it, a broken and wounded girl;
