He saw her run, and it broke him. He didn't know what made her cry but he was so mad that she was sad and something had caused it. She was holding onto him as if there was no tomorrow but he needed to do this. He had to do this. 

Telling her that it wasn't working had gone better than he thought, on his part anyway. He found it easy. He just didn't feel the same and there was no point in leading her on, even though he knew that she had already violated his trust. She, however, claimed tat they were fine that there was no reason for him to do this. But there was he knew there was. He claimed they were too different that he didn't see it working, she claimed otherwise stating that 'opposites attract'. But this is the real world and that doesn't happen. As he walked away he felt free and he had a small smile because on repeat in his head was her song.
