Melissa
We were all at Bobby's house and just seeing him in this state of mind was hard to watch. The four of was were standing in the doorway separating he kitchen and Bobby's study as we watched him sit at his desk while he drank and flip through some books.
"Someone say something" Brit hissed.
"Mel, say something" Sam whispered.
"Yea, maybe he needs a feminine approach" Dean said.
"Fine. Hop to it, Sammy" I said, smugly, smirking up at Sam.
He glared down at me as Dean chuckled and Brit snickered, shaking her head. Then, we all held out our fists and Brit and I held each other's eyes and nodded, smirking and we all silently counted to three and then showed that Dean, Brit and I all chose scissors and Sam had chose paper. The three of us grinned and pounded fists as Sam looked stunned.
"Uh..."
"You four just gonna stand there like the ugly girl at the prom, or you gonna pitch in? This so-called Eve, mother of whatever ain't gonna gank herself. What's wrong with you four?" Bobby finally spoke.
We all exchanged a look. I sighed and then looked back at Bobby. Guess I'll be the one to speak up. "Bobby...you haven't slept in days..." I noted.
"I sleep. What are you, my wife now?"
"She's just saying that, you know ,taking five might be a good thing" Dean said.
"For whom?"
"Look, Bobby, it was tough for all of us, seeing Rufus go like that..." Sam said.
I held my head slightly...I wasn't there to see him go...I was being possessed by one of thoes creatures.
Bobby looked up at us. "You think this ...this ain't about Rufus"
"Bobby, he wasn't just a poker buddy" Brit said, lightly.
"You know when I knew Rufus was done for? The day I met him. The only question was, who first, him or me? Now, you want to stand there and therapize, or you want to get me some coffee? Make it Irish"
We all exchanged a look and then walked into the kitchen. I sighed. "Well, he's doing just great" I commented. "Yeah. This isn't about Rufus at all" Sam added.
"Well, what do you want to do? I mean, we can't just sit here and watch him poop out his liver" Dean said. "Well, we could get him out of the house. There's a job" Sam said.
"Really? What do you got?"
"Look. Chester, Pennsylvania. Three people got kicked off in the last week, all freaky. Last guy got karate-chopped by his garage door. And these are all blood relatives"
"What are you thinking, family curse?" I asked.
"Could be"
"Hey, grumpy..." Dean started to call to Bobby but when he turned, Bobby was standing right behind him.
"I don't want to do crap. Leave me alone. Just...get out of my house, all of you. You're driving me nuts"
"Bobby..." I said, gently.
"Now! For the love of Pete" he barked, pushing passed us to get to the coffee.
We just looked at each other, nodded and then left. "Should we really be leaving Bobby right now?" Brit asked, skeptically and I was thinking the same thing.
"Ellen said she was two shakes away..." Sam said.
"He'll be fine" I told her. It was more to just convince myself though. Ellen was his wife, she should be able to get him out of his funk if anything.
