Melissa
I was looking out of the Melanie's window, using a finger to move the curtain and I watched Sam, Brit and Dean talking by Dean's new Dodge.
"You okay?" Melanie asked me.
I looked over at her and laughed lightly. "I should be asking you that" I smiled.
"Well...are you?"
I shrugged. "Definition of okay?"
"Mmm fairly healthy...in working order?"
"Well I don't know about working order...but I'm fairly healthy" I laughed.
She looked out to Dean. "How long have they been fighting?"
"A week and a half"
"And you two?"
"Me and Dean? We're always on and off. He finally just broke it off at the same time"
"It wont last long. I can tell"
"Melanie, I've grown to really like you and all but you don't know Dean"
"Maybe not. But, I see the way he looks at you every time you're not looking, just wishing you would look back at him...and I do know he loves you. That's not just something that goes away"
I sighed. "You don't know what happened though"
"You had a thing with his brother" I snapped my eyes at her. "That was obvious too by the way Sam could barely even look at you...but it's more than that...he's really angry with you"
"Yea...he is...I lied to him about something really personal. He trusted me"
"Well, you'll get through it. You all will. I can feel it"
I smiled at her. "Ya know. You're my favorite case" I gave her a side hug.
"So you deal with stuff like this a lot?"
"More than you know"
"Can you tell me something else though...is Brittney okay? Is she mad at me too?"
"Oh she'll be fine. I'm not worried about her...she's hurting, yes, but it'll come out eventually. She's not angry with you though. She understands" Then, her cell phone rang. "Excuse me"
"Yea, of course" I nodded and she walked away. I wrapped my arms around my stomach and went to look back out the window.
But, then Dean came walking back into the house...alone. I quickly dropped my arms because I knew he would catch me feeling overwhelmed...but I saw he was eyeing me and my arms. Crap.
"Where are Sam and Brit?" I asked.
"They felt we should split up in order to hit all these houses and check out all these psychics"
"Oh, okay, yea, that's probably a good idea. There are like 67 in this town"
"So...you think we should split up too..." he inquired.
"Well...don't you?"
He just looked at me for a moment. "Yea...sure...listen, I think we should talk..."
"About?"
"About? What do you mean about..." he started, but then Melanie came rushing in.
"That was my friend, Camille, on the phone. She's frantic right now. She said she had a vision" Melanie said, kind of freaking out.
"Okay, okay, come on, take us to her house" I said and we went to walk out.
"So since you said we, does this mean I can come?" Dean asked, following.
