*Calum's POV*
Ah April Fools day. Emily is in for a real treat. Everyone knows I'm the king of practical jokes. Today is going to be awesome.
I heard Emily turn the water off in the shower. Time for prank number one.
"Good morning, baby." She said walking into her room and turning on the fan like she always did after showers. Just then multicolored feathers came raining down on her from on top of the fan blades.
"Happy April Fools, princess." I said giggling and pulling her onto the bed.
"Cal, you started the war, but I'm going to end it." She said kissing me sweetly and getting dressed pulling the feathers off her wet skin. She left the room quickly. I was feeling sort of lazy so I stayed in bed for about another hour. I looked at my phone, 10:06 am. Emily should be home from school soon. I'm glad she is on spring break at work this week. We've been planning wedding stuff. I was sitting on the couch waiting for Em to get home when my phone started to ring. I got concerned when I saw Emily's face on the screen.
"Hello? Everything okay babe?" I said after answering the phone.
"Babe my car broke down. Can you drive my mom's over to pick me up at school? And hurry please. Its cold." She said on the other side of the phone.
"I'll be right there, princess." I said and grabbed her moms keys.
I opened the front door and walked smack into a wall of packing tape.
Emily's laugh rang in my ears. She walked up the steps.
"April Fools, baby!" She said walking past me into the house. She fucking got me.
The entire day we went back and forth pranking each other. I got her really good with flour in the hair dryer before we went out to dinner. She was mad but it was worth it. We got home from dinner and she was changing into her pajamas when she began to speak.
"Babe, I have to tell you something." She said in a serious tone.
"Yes, my love?" I said with a smile.
She sat on the bed next to me and sighed.
"I wanted to tell you, you and I are in for one hell of a gift in about nine months." She said.
"What do you mean babe? The wedding? That's in like nine months." I said confused.
"No, not that. You're going to be a daddy, Cal." She said.
"Ha. Good one. April Fools right?" I said processing the serious look on her face. Her blank expression grew into a smile.
"Nope. I'm serious." She said pulling out a box and handing it to me. Inside was a positive pregnancy test and a pair of yellow baby booties.
"Holy shit! I'm gonna be a dad! Oh my god! We are gonna have a baby! Em this is amazing! I'm so happy! Oh my god! How far along are you?" I said without breathing.
"I'm about a month. So the baby will be here in about 36 weeks. I'm so glad you're so excited. We are starting our little family." She said and I pulled her in for a kiss. After kissing her lips I lifted her shirt and kissed her belly.
"Mommy and daddy can't wait to meet you, baby! We love you so so much!" I said and kissed her belly again. Best thing I've heard all year, besides Emily agreeing to marry me. Our little family is finally starting and I could not be happier.
