*My POV*
I woke up to the sound of my alarm on this very hot Wednesday morning. Today was my first doctors appointment without Calum. I really didn't want to go alone, but I get to see our baby today! I slowly sat up and got dressed. I threw on one of Cal's band shirts. I love wearing his clothes when he's on tour. It makes me feel like he's still here. I didn't tell Cal about my appointment today so that I could surprise him with ultrasound photos later on. I made my way downstairs and grabbed my keys. I got in my car and turned on the radio and instantly my ears recognized the beautiful voice of my fiancé. Jet Black Heart was playing and I instantly became flooded with emotions. Tears began to stream down my face. I miss Cal so much. Once the song ended and I regained my composure, I headed toward the doctors office.
I sang songs the whole way there and tried to keep my mood positive. I walked into the office and before I could pick a magazine to skim the nurse called me back.
"No daddy today?" She asked me with a concerned tone.
"No, not today unfortunately, and probably not for the next few appointments." I said in a melancholy tone.
"Do I dare ask why?" She said cautiously.
"Oh! No we aren't broken up if that's what you think. He's on tour for a few months. He's in a band." I said and I could see the relief on her face.
"Oh okay. Good. I'm glad. He's excited for baby isn't he?" She said as she squeezed the jell onto my belly.
"Oh yes. He's very excited. We just decorated the nursery." I said smiling.
"Neutral colors I suppose." She said as she moved the device across my stomach and the heartbeat became audible once again.
"Yes. Yellow and grey. And could you just hold it right there I want to record this for daddy." I said pulling out my phone. I recorded the heartbeat and the image on the screen and spoke in the background. "Say 'Hi daddy! Mommy and I miss you bunches!'" I said and then stopped the recording.
"Thank you." I said to the patient nurse.
"Oh you're welcome sweetie. I'm sure it must be hard when daddy is away." She said.
"Yeah its hard, but we make it work." I said and she began to wipe the jell off my stomach.
"Well, that's good. You two will be good parents to baby. I'll be right back with the photos." She said with a wide smile. I stood up and situated my clothes and before I knew it the nurse was knocking on the door. I told her to come in and she handed me the small ultrasound photos of our baby. I thanked her and left my appointment happy. These mood swings are kicking my ass.

After finishing work I headed right to Amanda's house. When I pulled up she was already coming out her front door.
"Hey! How'd the appointment go?" She said getting into the passenger seat and buckling her seatbelt.
"It went well. I got new pictures. Baby Hood's growing!" I said and handed her the photos. She looked them over and her smile grew.
"Oh my god, Em. I still can't believe you're going to be a mommy." She said and hugged me.
"I know. Sometimes I can't believe it either. The nurse made me feel a little weird today because Cal wasn't with me." I said.
"Why? That's none of her business anyway. Did you tell her he's on tour?" She said offended by the nurse's accusations.
"Yeah. I did, and she understood, but I don't know. I just felt weird." I said. "But anyway, lets get to my house so we can facetime with Cake before they go on stage." I smiled pulling away from her house.
"And then shopping for baby clothes, right?" She said eagerly.
"Yes. We need a coming home outfit." I said.

After what felt like hours of my phone ringing to connect, I finally saw Cal's face appear on my screen. Amanda was sitting across the room facetiming Luke as well.
"Hey, princess! How was your day?" He said enthusiastically.
"Not bad. Work went well. Oh, and I had a doctors appointment this morning." I said pausing facetime and quickly sending him the photos and video of the ultrasound.
"Why didn't you tell me, babe? I would have-" He stopped mid sentence as I heard him play the video I took of the heart beat. "I hate that I'm missing these things." He said almost to himself.
"I know you do, baby. But you'll be here soon." I said.
"Not good enough. I want you on tour with me again." He said.
"Cal, you know we cant do that. I have to stick with one doctor and there isn't enough space on the bus for a big pregnant girl." I said. "But listen, we got this, babe. We have each other even when you're on tour. And I'll see you in a couple weeks for Amanda's graduation anyway. We can do this." I reassured him.
"You're right. I love you so much and I have no idea what I would do without you." He said and I heard them being called to stage in the background.
"Go kick ass, baby. I love you!" I said and he blew me a kiss before ending the call. Amanda looked at me and I looked at her.
"Shopping." We said in unison.

"What do you think of this?" Amanda asked holding up a onesie that said 'Cute as can be' on it.
"I like it. It's an option." I said continuing to browse baby clothes in search of the perfect coming home outfit for baby Hood.
"I found it. It's perfect." Amanda said and I turned around quickly to see a white onesie with black writing that said 'My daddy's band is better than your daddy's'.
"Sold. Cal's going to love it." I said with a giggle.
"I really can't wait for this baby, you know." Amanda said.
"You're telling me! Now let's get food. I'm starving." I said as we checked out and left the store. Cal's face will be priceless when he sees this onesie and I can't wait.

Sorry this update kinda sucks. Im just working through some stuff right now. But how excited are we for baby Hood? Will it be a boy or a girl? Who knows? You'll have to wait and see!
