*My POV*
"Let's go already slowpoke! I'm hungry!" I whined to my mom while she stepped out of her room.
"Wow, this pregnancy is making you even more annoying than you were."
She teased. "How does Calum deal with you?"
"He's on tour. He doesn't deal with me. Now let's go. If I don't eat soon, I'm going to die!" I whined once more.
"Okay, okay. Let's go." She said grabbing her keys.
"Yes. Finally!" I said and followed her out the door closing it behind me. I got into the car and buckled my seatbelt. When the car started and the radio turned on my ears were flooded with a familiar tune. Jet Black Heart. I reached for the volume knob and turned it up. I sang along to the deep words and noticed my mom sneaking small glances at me as she drove. When the song was finished, she spoke.
"You know, it's amazing to me that you're engaged to that boy." She said with a smile on her face. "I remember the first time you laid eyes on him. Then I didn't stop hearing about him."
"What can I say? He was just so cute." I said grinning and looking at the beautiful ring on my left hand and running my other hand against my baby bump.
"You're lucky, you know. He's good to you. I'm happy you found your prince charming." She said reaching out and grabbing my hand and squeezing it gently.
"I hit the jackpot." I said with a giggle.
"You really did. It makes me do happy to see you so happy." She said as we pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant.
"Thanks momma. He's the one. For sure." I said looking at his picture on my lock screen. I couldn't help but smile.
"Alright, let's go eat." She said turning the car off and I excited exited the car. Once we were seated the conversation started back up again.
"So when do we find out if this baby is a prince or a princess?" My mom asked while browsing the menu.
"Well, I think they could tell at the last sonogram I had, but I said I didn't want them to tell me." I said putting my menu down.
"You don't want to find out?" She asked.
"I do, but I want it to be a reveal. I don't know. I kind of want a creative reveal." I said and she nodded.
"Gotcha." She said as the waitress came over and took out order.
We talked about a variety of subjects and were finishing up our food until a young girl approached our table looking at me nervously.
"Hi. Can I help you?" I said in a sweet tone looking at her. She must have been about 12. She had glasses and braids in her hair and she was wearing a 5sos tee shirt.
"Are you Emily? Calum's girlfriend?" She said nervously playing with her hands.
"Yeah, that's me!" I said with a smile. "Don't be nervous, sweetie. I can tell you're a fan." I said motioning for her to come closer. I scooted over in the booth and gestured for her to sit. She sat next to me carefully.
"What's your name sweetheart?"
"Zoey." She said smiling slightly.
"What a pretty name! It matches your pretty face." I said and her smile grew. "I'll tell you what sweetheart, how would you like to facetime with Calum?" I asked her and he began to squirm with excitement.
"That would be amazing! He's my favorite!" She said. I pulled out my phone and unlocked it. I pressed the button to begin facetiming and almost immediately Calum answered. His bright smile illuminated my screen.
"Hi, princess! How are you?" He asked.
"I'm great, baby. I have someone who would like to talk to you. Meet Zoey." I said facing the camera so her face would be visible as well.
"Hi Zoey! It's so nice to meet you! I love your shirt!" He said and she laughed.
"Thank you. I love you! You're my favorite. I know all the words to your songs and I even have tickets to see you tomorrow!" She said and he giggled.
"Well, that's great! I'll tell you what. When you get there tomorrow, you find Emily and we'll get you back stage." He said and her face lit up even more.
"Really?!" She asked.
"Of course! How could I not meet my number one fan?" He smiled.
"Oh my gosh. I'm so excited! Thank you!" She said and hugged me. Calum had to go, so the call ended and Zoey returned to her family. My mom spoke for the first time after the event.
"You're so sweet. And so is he. You're going to make great parents. I'm so proud of you." She said.
"Thanks momma. It means a lot." I said as we paid for our meal and headed out for our day of shopping.
Store after store and hours later our arms were draped with shopping bags full of baby clothes, maternity clothes, and whatever else caught our eyes along the way. It was about 6:30 when we decided to head back home.
The car ride was short and we pulled into the drive way as the sun was lowering in the sky. I grabbed my purse and left the other bags in the car for now. I walked up the steps and opened the door. To my surprise I saw all my friends and family standing in my living room.
"Woah, what's this?" I laughed, putting my bag down.
"Your gender reveal duh! It was Amanda's idea." My friend Rachael smiled. I locked eyes with Amanda and smiled.
"Thank you." I said and she nodded.
"No problem, now let's get this shit started!"*****
"Awh guys these gifts are so cute." I gushed. Everyone decided to get me little gender neutral gifts for the baby, all of them were really adorable. "Now what should we do?" I asked and put the last of the presents down.
"Well I guess we should cut the cake." Amanda replied, walking into the kitchen to grab me a knife. She walked back into the dining room where everyone was now crowded in, and handed me the knife. I took a deep breath and slid the knife into the cake. I cut a small piece and began to slowly pull it out. I gasped at the sight of the vivid color and looked up and both Deysi and Amanda. Amanda looked over at Deysi and realized they were both smiling like mad.
"Oh my god." I whispered, wiping stray tears off of my cheeks. "I-I'm having. Oh god, wowie, I'm having-"
"Yup," Amanda interrupted, laughing. "You're having a boy."
