Walking over to the stage, I felt a sense of pride towards myself. Looking around, the whole college was staring right at me as I collected my diploma, posed for a picture, and went back down. And this is it. The moment I graduate college. I smile, my parents beckoning over so they could take a picture. The flash goes off, and I go over to them, embracing them both tightly.
"We're so proud of you, love! Can't believe our little daughter's all grown up now." My mother gushed, tears threatening to spill from her eyes.
"I know. She's off to the big world now, ready to be her own. Just stay safe and be sensible, kiddo." Dad in turn replied.
"Of course I will. Thank you to the both of you so much for giving me so much love! And yes, dad. Metropolis is not so different from New York anyways, and it has a 3.6% criminality rate! Besides, I'm only going to be at LexCorp for 8 months."
"B-but 8 months is a long time, hun." My mother begins to cry and I embrace her yet again.
"I'll be back ma, as soon as I can."
"You better be, otherwise it's either a guy or the sights thats keeping you there."
"As if! My lovely Em could never be distracted by any male specimen!" My dad butted in, lightening the mood.
"Of course, Dad!" I laugh along with both of them, questioning the notion of love making you blind.
