Steve's POV.
I walked towards the girl who just collapsed in front of me, we were miles from the HYDRA base she was last observed. We went there two days ago to take down the base, only to find out that someone beat us to it, when we went over the footage everything was wiped clean except for the surveillance on the outside, showing her walk towards the desert.
We had been looking at satellite photos for almost 48 hours when we finally found her earlier that day.
I lifted her up, she looked badly burnt, and her breath was weak. I rushed to the Quinjet and laid her down on a hospital bed. She woke up and weakly asked for water. The first times she woke up from unconsciousness she took only a small sip and then she would fade away.
The more times she woke up, she drank more and more. When they were close back at the tower she took the water bottle and poured it over her face, and her burned face turned back to normal.
I was shocked at the sight, sure I lived in a world with gods, aliens and superheroes.
I just now realized how beautiful she looked. She was really something.
When we arrived at the tower a couple of doctors rolled the hospital bed to the infirmary, and I mentioned the water, and that they might want to just keep her skin moisturized. I then went to find Bucky, and ask if he knew who she was.
(A/N—What do you guys think so far? I'm really excited about continuing this, I'm gonna try to update only once a day, maybe twice with this one, since I wrote 36 chapters within a week on my first. This book will also have shorter chapters.
