Happy Reading!
Oh glorious school. I was finally back. The only problem was that, though I could now breathe normally, there was still one heck of a bruise on my face. Makeup didn't cover it and if anything or anyone touched it, I would start bawling. I was walking next to Evan, on our way to the first class we share together, English. Seems as if he didn't take it till now either. That or the class requirements were different in Europe.
Even though Evan had been here for over three weeks, this was his first day at school. There had been some things him and his dad needed to care of about his old school before he could come back. So far, a lot of the teachers had commented they were happy he was back, and smiling when they saw our intertwined hands. I'm sure they all remember us being together and thought we were cute(because we are).
I can practically feel everyone's eyes on me, hear the whispers as we pass people. By now everyone had to have heard what had happened to me. Word travels fast here in Grandview Maine.
"What are you doing later today?" Evan asks me.
"As far as I know, not a thing." I answer.'
"I have things for is to do after school."
I look at him, but he does the zips his lips sign, and smiles a mischievous grin at me. I sigh and try to think about what he means. Knowing Evan I never know what he could have up his sleeve. We make it to English with five minutes to spare. Evan lets go off my hand, and heads to talk to someone he hasn't seen since he left.
And here comes the awkward part. Do I sit next Brooke, like normal, or do I sit next to Evan?
Evan then seems to make my decision for me and sits at a desk across the room, leaving me free to sit next to Brooke. I grin at him and take my seat, ready for the next hour and a half in hell.
Evan finds me before lunch, and slips his hand in mine.
"I assume I can sit with you guys at lunch?" Evan asks, hopeful, like he expected me to say no. I look at him and roll my eyes. His blonde hair is ruffled, but it looks cute on his head. He somehow managed to grow three inches in Europe, even though he was so tall before. Many people expected him to be descended from the giants. Or possibly the god of prettiness.
Evan was always attractive enough to be the eye of any girl in the room. Even when he was younger and in the awkward phase, when he didn't know how to talk to girls, or get the ladies, it never really mattered. Girls would automatically introduce themselves to him, because of the prettiness of his face.
This was always the start of our rare fights. At first, he didn't know how to automatically not flirt with them. They would go and act all slutty around him, and he had no idea how to stop himself from reacting. So I of course had many problems with this. He quickly learned how to decline real quick and push them away. No matter how hard either of us tried though, I would still get jealous. When I was younger, none of my other friends had stayed in my life. I was always scared of losing him to someone prettier or better than me.
He always thought that was crazy. that I had nothing to worry about. He always reassured me that I was the only one, and I never suspected him of cheating on me. He had lots of girls to choose from if that was what he wanted. I had faith that he was, and would be always loyal to me.
