Alaria's POV
I woke to arms wrapped around me. In shock, I struggled, but the arms only tightened their grip. I sighed and look over my shoulder.
Oh, it was only Kyoya!
Wait! Kyoya!?
I thought back to last night desperately, hoping to every God and Goddess in existence that nothing happened. And, once I remembered all of last night, I sighed; just a snowball fight.
Kyoya moaned as he woke, blinking. He saw me in his arms and jumped, falling out of the bed. I leaned over the edge. "You okay?" Kyoya looked rather disturbed. "Oh my God!" He screamed. I shook my head. "No! No, nothing happened! Just a snowball fight, Kyoya!" He stopped panicking to remember and then sighed. "That scared me..." He whispered, sitting on the edge of the bed. I giggled. "And you're the calm one?" He sent me a playful glare.
We sat there for a moment in silence.
The bedroom door opened, revealing the same female servant who came to wake me yesterday. When she saw us, she gaped at us. "I-Um..." She couldn't seem to get out the words. Kyoya and I shook our heads. "Nothing happened." We said in unison. She smiled and nodded. "Right. Of course." And left.
A smile grew on my face, which caused one to grow on Kyoya's. "What're you smiling about?" He chuckled. I shrugged and got up, giggling. "We're not going anywhere today?" I asked. He shook his head, "No," I smirked. "Snow day!" I cheered and pulled on a coat. "Race ya!"
I ran down the stairs, Kyoya shouting that I got a head start. I rushed outside and smirked, looking into Kyoya's window.
Because of my own impatience, I turned around on the porch to look at the snow-covered ground. I stepped into the snow and squealed as I sank into it. I looked at the front door as Kyoya stepped out. "Huh. Got pretty deep last night." I nodded and began walking through the snow.
Kyoya walked behind me, seemingly used to walking through thick snow, while I was tripping and fighting to walk through it. It took me about an hour to get used to it.
I picked up a handful of snow and molded and pressed it into a ball I turned around to throw the ball at him, and he was standing right there. He grabbed both my wrists and I screamed, dropping the snow ball. Kyoya chuckled and leaned into my ear. "Having fun?" His voice was low and came out as a seductive purr. It sent shivers down my spine. "I-I... You..." I couldn't get the words out. "Something wrong, Lari?" He purred once again. "Er-No. I-I don't think so..." My voice dropped to a whisper as he leaned in even closer. "Good."
He pulled me into a hug, then picked me up. I squealed, clinging to his neck as if I'd die. He walked us inside before setting me down in the den. "Hot chocolate?" I smiled and nodded, peeling off my coat. A butler took my coat and hung it on a coat rack. I sat down across from Kyoya, listening to the waking fire behind him. "It's only been two days and it feels like a week?" He questioned aloud. I laughed. "Yes, I suppose it has only been two days." I blushed, thinking about the current occurrences that have been happening between Kyoya and I. I knew it was going to be awkward...
But not this kind of awkward.
A servant came into the room with a silver tray holding two mugs of steaming liquid -- which I assumed to be hot chocolate. She set the tray down on the coffee table seperating us, curtsied, and left the room to leave us alone. I picked up the hot chocolate and took a sip, moaning against its deliciousness. "Something so delicious should be illegal..." I said after swallowing. Kyoya laughed, drinkingsome himself. "It is good, isn't it?"
We sat there, drinking our hot chocolate. I was distracted by the hypnotizing fire behind Kyoya. Suddenly, the wind picked up and beat against the windows, scaring the death out of me. I jumped, though I was careful not to spill the hot beverage, and looked out the window. The snow had began again, but it wasn't the peaceful, slow snow like before. This was more harsh. A distant roll of thunder had me put down the mug and curl into a ball on the floor beside the couch, rocking back and forth. "A blizzard..." Kyoya groaned. He crouched down beside me and smiled sadly. "It's okay-" Another roll of thunder resounded and I jumped into Kyoya. He caught me expertly, but gaped at me as if I were crazy.
He stood and walked up the stairs. Just as we made it half way to my room, the power went out. I screamed and cried against Kyoya's shirt; this was just too much. Kyoya jumped, and rushed to my room. He set me down on the bed and closed the curtains, turning on some music and locking the windows and doors. I felt so bad, so helpless. This was my only weakness. It sucked.
Kyoya joined me on the edge of the bed after he was finished shutting out the sound. I was slowly relaxing, as I hadn't heard the thunder for a while. He wrapped an arm around my shoulder with a sigh. "What is it about thunder that gets you so scared?" He mumbled. Thunder rolled like a gun firing, shaking the entire house and breaking through the music. I screamed and, once again, jumped into Kyoya's arms, crying.
Life just can't give me a break, can it?
Banging started against the door. It was so loud, I took it as thunder and fell off the bed. Kyoya hissed and picked me up, holding me to his chest. He slammed open the door, a glare of pure anger on his face.
It was Kaoru.
Kaoru saw my face and paled. "Alaria..." He whispered in concern. He wrapped his arms around me, slowly pulling me away from Kyoya and hugging me. "Thank you, Kyoya, for comforting her. I saw the blizzard coming in and came over as fast as I could." Kyoya nodded, the annoyance and aggravation slowly washing off his face. "Completely understood." He pushed his glasses up.

We spent the rest of the blizzard in the room, talking and comforting. Once it was over and the power came back on, Kyoya walked Kaoru and I downstairs where we swa Hikaru waiting. Hikaru seemed a bit annoyed, but smiled sadly when he saw me, pale from crying. He hugged me and sat back down. "How was the thunder?" He joked. Kaoru slapped his shoulder and sat me down in between he and Hikaru. Kyoya sat across from me.
The silence that wracked the room was almost unbearable. I took Kaoru's hand and squeezed it; he was always so worried. I never could figure out about what, though.
Kyoya sat and talked with the twins about the event coming up. I decided I'd go; there wasn't any reason not to. The event sounded fun; snow, bells, mistle toe, Christmas themed. Kyoya had his little black book out, and I didn't doubt he was writing down something about the event. Kaoru and Hikaru were deep into the conversation and I found myself saring at the roaring fire behind Kyoya. It was so majestic and graceful.
As I watched the flames, it started to take form. A loud bang ran through the room and I stood, tears in my eyes. I looked to the side at a servant who'd tripped and fell. I hurried to help her up. What was that? My imagination?
Kaoru glanced at me with worry. "Alaria? Is everything okay?" I shook my head and paced, biting on my thumb. "I-I don't know..." The orange-haired boy stood and took my hands, making me stare at him. "What happened?" I shook my head and sighed. "Nothing, just my ridiculous imagination."
