The Comfort Inn Ending
"We made love like the world would have ended...
If either of us had admitted...
We were in love...
But I was the only one...
So I was the only lonely one..."
- Jhene(Unedited.)
Later that night, Ansley stayed with Bella for a while so she wouldn't be alone while Charlie and the rest of the hunting party went searching for the freakishly large wolves the two girls came across earlier that day. Ansley, still in shock, decided she needed a drink to calm her nerves and began searching the cabinets hoping to find Charlie's stash of alcohol. She knew he had one. Bella went to protest which Ansley ignored stumbling upon a half drunken bottle of whiskey.
After the 'I don't think my dad would' and the 'I'm over 21 and do what I want' conversation, Ansley unscrewed the top of the whiskey, pouring a healthy amount into a wine glass, also claiming that it would help her forget about the ache in her body.
Bella only shook her head and grinned. She couldn't help but wonder if this is what having an older sister was like."Do you, do you want to talk abou-" Ansley shook her head vigorously cutting Bella off.
"Nope. Nothing of what just happened. Try something else."
"Well, what about you and that guy? You never finished telling me what happened between you two."Bella wanted to deter Ansley from possibly asking too many questions.
"Oh. That." Ansley took a big gulp preparing to go back down memory lane. "Well while I was under the impression everything was all gravy, I was hit by reality. Hard."
"I'm no good Ansley."
It was pouring rain, the dark clouds coming in, signaling a storm was on its way. Even with the pneumonia catching weather, Ansley Yazzie still stood outside of Sam Uley's house, face to face with the teenager who held a cold expression while hers held pain and confusion.
He was breaking up with her.
After everything they had been through. After relentlessly pursuing her. After he told her he loved her. After she gave herself to him. Here he was, Sam Uley, in all his glory, ending there relationship. From the moment they kissed Ansley couldn't picture herself with with anyone else.
"But I don't - Sam, I don't understand." He'd eyes swelled up with tears.
"You need to get out of here Ansley. We're done.""You said, you that that you loved me-"
"I lied!" He snapped before letting out a sigh. "Can't you see that? I used you! I got what wanted. I don't want anything else."
