Rameena's POV

"Where are you, Ria?" I asked her, urgently. Ria chuckled.

"At my house, of course. You remember where that is, don't you?"

"No," Sali called, "Because you moved away!" Ria giggled.

"Oh right. Well, Ramiz knows where my new address is. Now you'll have to bring him to me. Ta-ta!" The line went dead. We all looked at each other until Ms. Couture broke the silence.

"I'm going to go tell Natalie's parents what happened," she told us, "I'll also drive around this area. Ria can't drive, so I don't think she got that far." We nodded.

"I guess we should go to the police station now, huh?" Keyarie asked us weakly. Sali and I both nodded. We grabbed our bags from the French office and bolted down the stairs. Keyarie was up ahead, yelling at us to hurry up. I was never really that fast of a runner...or a runner, but I was able to keep up to Sali. Keyarie was already talking to an officer by the time we got inside.

"No, I don't know what time she was kidnapped at," she said to the officer, "I wasn't even with her!" She looked pleadingly at me and Sali.

"Um, probably around 3:45," Sali answered. I tried to answer, but I couldn't say anything at all. The officer nodded and wrote something on his paper. I noticed that Keyarie and Sali looked pretty shaken up. Sali had little beads of sweat trickling down her forehead and neck, and Keyarie was clenching her hands so hard that her knuckles were turning white. I probably didn't look to great either.

"Can you tell me exactly what she looks like?" The officer asked.

"She's about 5 feet," Sali said.

"With straight hair, a kind of dark blonde colour," Keyarie added.

"She has hazel eyes," I told him.

"And freckles across her nose," we all said at the same time. He nodded and scribbled some more on the paper.

"She was wearing a black hoodie, black tights, and brown boots," Sali said, looking over his hand to see if he was actually writing.

"Alright, we'll set up an amber alert and send a search party. Her kidnapper was you age you say?" Keyarie nodded.

"Then she couldn't have gotten that far." 'You don't know Ria, though,' I thought.

"I'm not satisfied," Keyarie announced to us as we walked out of the police station.

"What're we supposed to do?" Asked Sali, "Go to Ria's house and kidnap Natalie back?"

"Thats exactly what I'm suggesting." Sali looked thoughtful for a moment.

"I actually like that idea...buts whose parent will drive us to a teenaged psychopaths home?" The two of them looked at each other, and than looked at me. My mom was pretty easy going with me, and she spoils me like crazy, so I had no doubt in my mind that she would drive us to Ria's house. I called her.

"Mom?" I asked.

"Hi Rameena."

"Could you drive me and my friends somewhere please?"

"Why?"

"Because we have to go get Natalie. Someone kidnapped her."

"What? Why is that even a question? Of course I'll drive you."

"Great," I said, "Just meet us in front of fifty in about twenty minutes." I hung up.

"Now the hard part," Keyarie said. If the situation wasn't so serious, we'd all be laughing at that sentence...while Natalie tried to even understand the joke, "Now, we have to convince my mom to let me go." Keyarie is an only child, so her mom worries about her a lot. She's very strict about things like this. So if she was hardly going to let Keyarie go to Natalie's house to work on an art project, do you really think she was going to let her first and only daughter go to a psychopaths house?

Yeah, no.

Keyarie unlocked the door to her house.

"You guys might as well come inside..." she whispered to us. Her mom was in the kitchen, cooking over the stove.

"Hi Keyarie," she greeted, not taking her eyes off the stove.

"Hi mom...uh, mom, can I ask you something?" Her mother looked up, and noticed that there were guests.

"This is Sali," she said, pointing to Sali, "And you've already met Rameena." Her mother nodded.

"Uhm, mom? I kind of need to go out today, and I don't really know when I'll get back." Keyarie explained how Natalie got kidnapped and that we were going to get her back. I couldn't really tell what her mother was thinking. She just had a neutral expression on her face. Finally, she sighed and said, "You're lucky its Friday and that this girl is your best friend." Keyarie grinned.

"Be right back," she said to us. She left us with her mother, Sali rocking on her feet, and her mother constantly checking her phone. Suddenly, Keyarie ran back into the hallway, cutting through the awkward silence.

"Just had to get my bag," she told us. We were about to leave when she ran up to her mother and hugged her.

"Thanks a lot mom. I'll be careful, I swear."

Sali's mom was a bit easier to convince, but it was even awkwarder when Sali left us alone with her, since her mother wasn't really the biggest fan of Keyarie(long story). I felt my phone buzz. My mom texted me.

I'm downstairs, it read. Sali said goodbye to her mother and we went downstairs. I looked up at the sky. The sun was shinning and the birds were chirping happily. I could hear children laughing at the park. It wasn't fair. My best friend had just been taken away from me. Everything should be dark and gloomy. Nothing should be beautiful. Finally, Keyarie said what I'm pretty sure we were all thinking.

"Why couldn't it have been any of us instead?" We hopped into the car and my mom started driving, while asking us a bunch of questions. I wasn't in the mood to pay attention. Suddenly, I remembered something.

"Mom, stop for a sec." She stopped. I texted Ramiz.

Me: Hey, do you know Rias new address?

Ramiz: Psycho bitch Ria? Yea, y

Me: Cuz she kidnapped Natalie, and we need to go find her.

Ramiz: She WAT?

Ramiz: Where r u?

Me: Outside your house

Ramiz: Wait 5mins. I'm coming with u guys
