MARIA'S POV

I woke up to shouting, I looked to my side but saw no body, I didn't realize he had got up. I pulled the covers away and got up.

Walking towards the bathroom the shouts started to clear and form into actual words "Why the fuck would you even suggest it?!" Huh? "I didn't, she did!" Are they talking about me? "You better not have done anything Louis Tomlinson or you're out!" What could he have possibly thought we di- ohh he thought we did the do.. naah I'm not a person that would hook up instantly.

Brushing off that thought I washed my face and left to go get some breakfast before my stomach ate itself.

As soon as I got to the bottom of the stairs all eyes were on me, "What are you doing up?" Harry asked "I-I" you gotta stand up for yourself Maria.

" I'm not going stay up there all day and starve to death, am I?." "Oh right - yeah- erm sorry." He tilted his head down clearly embarrassed about what he just said.

"Well there's cereal in he cupboards help yourself." Niall said giving me a slight smile but I just ignored it and walked to the kitchen.

I looked into the white cupboards and pulled out 'lucky charms' probably the Irish ones choice, I laughed at my own remark. Pouring the cereal in first because, that's the way to go, followed by the milk.

As I grabbed a spoon I heard steps behind me, I started to feel...nervous? I turned around to face him, even with him just in front of me made me feel scared, what if he hit me again. "Yo, you okay?" He asked looking somewhat concerned.

I felt my breathing hitch and suddenly quicken "please don't hurt me." He looked confused by my choice of words "I wasn't planning to, unless.." But he didn't continue which only made it worse.

I felt my palms getting sweaty as the word 'unless' kept drumming into my mind, what did he mean by that? Unless I do something bad? Disobey him? Leave here? Talk out of terms? I was so confused.

I turned around towards the tap and grabbed a glass of water hoping to calm me down. Another person came in, "Woah Maria, you're as pale as a ghost, are you okay?" Louis asked. "I-I don't feel very w-well."

He came up towards me and put his hand on my forehead "Erm your slightly warm, here come with me." He grabbed my arm as we walked out of the kitchen but soon I felt someone tugging at my other arm.

"No Louis she's fine." Jason "Just to make sure she's okay." Jason groaned "Fine, but be quick."

He guided me to a door that at first led you to a pool then the garden which was full of flowers and greenery, you wouldn't think that these kind of people lived here with how tidy and pretty it was, I presume they pay people to do the housework for them.

"So how come your feeling ill?" Louis asked "I don't know, I-I think it's because I'm scared." He sunk his head "Oh yeah, erm sorry." I stayed silent, not knowing how to reply.

"Well I have something else to ask you." I nodded signing him to carry on. He pointed to a bench.

We sat down on the bench that was placed near the side. "You don't mind if I ask YOU questions do you Maria?" "Uhh I guess I have no choice." I sighed when I realize I don't actually have no choice. I didn't even have a choice to be here, I was just taken here.

"Do have your mothers locket?" How the fuck does he know about that, and why is it the first question he asks me?

-FLASHBACK-

My mom pushed me on the swings causing my hair to flow  everywhere, shrieking in happiness. "Mom I want to get down now."

"Of course honey."

I dropped off the swing and wrapped my hand around hers. We started walking through the park, hand in hand, perfectly, just me and my mom.

"Honey I know you're only 11 but I need to give you something." She got down to my level and pulled out something from her pocket.

"This is my locket, it was my mothers before but it was passed down to me, and now it's time to be passed down to you." I looked down at it as I held it in my hand.

I attempted to open it but it wouldn't budge, "It won't open, I think it's broken."

"No it's not broken, it just requires a key, see look underneath it, no one in my side of the family has found the key but they say when you open it, it tells you what your future may be"

-FLASHBACK OVER-

And since that day, I found the key, it was with my dad, he said he was going to give it to my mom but never got the chance to since she...died..., and he thought it was best to give it to me.

When I did manage to open it inside was a little compass, but instead of having the regular 'north, east, south, west,' instead it had symbols, the one mine landed on was a rose with thorns.

"Yes I do why." He smiled widely "great, have you managed to open it?" Should I lie and tell him I couldn't or come out with the truth, if I lie it could result in something worse, I'm not risking anything.

"Y-yes I have." His smile grew wide, why is he so interested in the locket? "Now do you feel better since you've had a bit of fresh air?" In fact the fresh crop air made me feel somewhat better "Yeah." He smiled at me.

We got up and made our way back inside. Jason looked at Louie before turning towards me but talking to Louis "She's fine now."Louis said "And does she have it?" Louis nodded

"Perfect. Just. Perfect." Jason said whilst smirking at me.
