"Hey Dawn, " he says with a smile, "it's nice to see that we're in another class together."

I was excited to see him again. I was starting to convince myself that he was just a figment of my imagination, too good to be true, but thankfully he wasn't.

"H—Hey Adam," I said nervously, "wow I'm so happy you're in another one of my classes too." Still keeping the same smile he nods and continues to walk towards the back of the class. No, I thought, I'm not about to miss another opportunity to sit next to him.

"Wait! Adam sit right here in this seat next to me," I said without thinking, I flustered, wishing I'd kept my mouth shut. He turned around and looked at me surprised by my enthusiastic offer. Thankfully the only other person in the class was a nerdy looking guy so I paid him no attention

"No thanks, I work better in the back." He said while sitting in his seat. I was broken down by his rejection, so I quickly turned around toward the front of the class feeling tears trying to find their way out. I played with my hair to distract myself from this humiliating situation.

"Dawn, since your so determined to sit next to me, you can sit here," he said playfully with a smirk, patting on the desk next to him.

I lied and said with disgust, "no I'm not I was just... was just trying to be nice and offer you a seat. That's all." I snapped. I tried to hide it, but secretly I was flattered at the fact that he wanted me to sit next to him.

"Eh, c'mon, I was just joking, people are starting to come and I will not be able to save this seat forever," he said while still patting on the desk, gesturing me to come. I rolled my eyes in annoyance of him, but I couldn't help but to get up and sit next to him. Maneuvering my rolly backpack down the isle was difficult, and embarrassing. The wheels kept bumping into the legs of the desks, but I managed.

As I sat down next to him I started to drift off into my thoughts, and think about what happened in first period. Like how nervous I was to stand up in front of everyone, how nice it was to see Mrs. Charlotte again, and mostly about why Adam touched my lips. And why did it allow me to boldly speak my mind? Just thinking about it gave me butterflies. I wanted to ask him why, but I didn't have the courage to.

When class began I started to regret sitting in the back, everyone's heads were blocking me and I couldn't see the board or understand what my math teacher, Mr. Ramich was doing. Being only 5'1 was quite the struggle.

As he was teaching someone caught his eye. "Young man in the front, take off your hoodie now," he said forcefully. The boy gave the teacher a smug look then coldly refused to take the hood off his head. I nudged Adam so that he could take his hood off before the teacher noticed, but he ignored me and pointed to my head. I thought, he must be pointing at my messy hair, so I ignored him, and pulled down on my beanie so that it could cover more of my hair. "Young man," the teacher continues, "if you don't take it off right now I'll write you up, and call security to take you out of my room!" He threatened.

"Am I hurting anyone?" he retorted, but as he said that Mr. Ramich started to walk towards the telephone to call security. "Fine!" The boy said, and was clearly embarrassed as he took it off. Probably because of a bad hair day. After seeing all this happening I realized that I too was wearing something on my head, my beanie. I quickly took it off revealing my unruly hair, before the teacher noticed. Ohh maybe that's why Adam pointed at my head... I'm so slow, I thought.

"Thank you," Mr. Ramich said, while slightly softening his harsh tone. But as he turned around to resume teaching the class, the boy muttered something so quiet that I couldn't hear what he said. But the people seated near him giggled at what he'd said.

"Quiet class!" He barked. I can clearly start to see that he's one of those teachers that hated kids. And didn't know what else to do with their life. His balding head made him look like a potato. I'm sorry, but it's true.

Now I was just waiting for Adam to get scolded at because he wouldn't take his off either, but as time goes by I started to wonder why the teacher didn't notice Adam. Because his hoodie was very bright. Compared to what everyone else in the class was wearing, his hoodie stood out the most.

"Alright class that'll be all for today," Mr. Ramich said as the bell rang, I grumbled at my frustration because I didn't learn anything.

As people started to leave Adam looked at me and said, "what's wrong." I tried to calm down before I answered him.

"O... oh, it's nothing... I just didn't understand anything today, and math is my weakest subject, so yeah." I said frowning while shoving my math book into my bag.

"Don't worry I can teach you the things you've missed out on, I pretty much understand everything Mr. Ramich said. It's not rocket science." He said.

I looked at him with relieved eyes and said, "oh my goodness thank you so much, I.. I don't know what i'd do without you." Again i'm baffled by the words that came out my mouth and bit my lip, but it was too late.

He smiles and says, "your welcome, I'm just glad that I can help. So where and when do you want to study?" He asks

"Uhm... how about the cafè that's two blocks from here, and can we meet up at around five.. thirty." I reply.

"Sounds great! Can't wait to see you there." He said with a big smile. While we talked I saw Mr. Ramich strangely looking at me and I didn't know why.

As we walk out of class Adams attention drifts towards my limping leg. I tried to hide the fact that I was still in very bad pain, but it was obvious to him that I was. "Hey, does your knee still hurt?" He asked.

"Yea, but it only hurts a little bit now, it's nothing." I lied

"Are you sure?" He said while intently looking at me with his gorgeous, big blue eyes.

Looking into his eyes put my stomach in knots. "Y..yeah I'm fine, probably tomorrow my knee will be good as new I'm sure of it," I said while nervously smiling.

We were now outside and sat down on the benches in front of the car-loop. As we were talking my mom's car caught my eye, and I frowned. I was really enjoying my time with Adam, he didn't treat me like the freak that I was. "I have to go, I see my mom's car over there," I sighed.

We exchange "goodbyes," but before I can even walk ten feet I felt someone grab my arm.

"Wait!" Adam shouts while turning me around.

As this happened I didn't know what to think, is he going to ask me out, is he going to ask for my number? Is he going to confess his undying love for me? I was dying for him to finish talking. "Oh yeah, you for got this in first period," he said while holding a sticky note in his hand. I sighed under my breath.

"Oh wow.. thanks!" Is what I managed to say, as he handed it to me.

"Your welcome and God Bless You!" He said smiling, and then walked away.

I cringed at those words, God Bless You. It just made me uncomfortable, but the feelings of anger and bitterness soon subsided as soon as I saw my mothers sweet smile through the car window.
