When I got a hold of my phone, I thought of messaging the first person that came to my mind.
Adam...
I swear, I wrote him a million things, a million times, but each time I typed something in his message box, I just ended up erasing it. I just couldn't get my words right and was over thinking everything.
Frustrated, I just typed 'Hey' and quickly sent it to him. After a few seconds had past, reality finally hits.
What if I wake him up? What if he doesn't answer? What if he thinks it's weird that I'm texting him so late at night? Oh my gosh, what if he thinks I'm Slender Man?! What if...
My anxious thoughts were cut short, by my phone flashing several times in my dark room.
He replied.
It took me about a minute or two before I had enough courage to flip my phone over to see what he wrote back.
Him: Heyy ;)
My heart began to pick up it's pace and leap within my chest, giving me goosebumps. After a while of me not replying, he wrote...
Him: Are you okay?
I began to have a headache, from forcing my emotions to obey me. I then took a couple deep breathes before answering him.
Me: No.
Him: What's wrong? :(
Me: I had a bad dream and it made me sad...
Him: I'm so sorry to hear that. What was it about?
Instead of answering his question, I asked...
Me: Why did God allow my dad to die?
Him: I'm sorry, but... I don't know why.
Me: Oh okay...
Him: Dawn, there are some questions that only God can answer...and I believe this may be one of them.
Him: Ask Him.
Me: I did when I was younger, but NEVER heard anything from Him, not even once.
Me: After a while, I just gave up.
Him: Well, it's in the quiet that He comes.
Irritated with this conversation, I tried to change the subject.
Me: Oh... okay. I'll try that later...Me: And sorry if I woke you up. I'm an idiot.
Him: No, it's cool. I was already awake.
Me: Really? Lol, what are you doing up this late? Are you a night owl or something? ;)
Him: Hahaha! I guess I'm something like that. And I like to stay up late, because I love looking up at the beautiful stars God has created in the midnight sky. They're just so mesmerizing.
Him: What does, Lol, mean? Typo?
Me: What? No, it's not a typo! It means, laugh out loud...like it's a shorter version of hahaha...
