I drove by all the places we used to hang out getting wasted
I thought about our last kiss, how it felt the way you tasted

Jade walked by the beach. She glanced over where Leigh and Jesy had hosted a bonfire, the remains of the fire still there. She thought of how much alcohol she had consumed. How much Perrie had and how giggly she was from it. She thought of how rosy her cheeks were and how flirty she was trying to cuddle into her. She tried to smile at the memory. Really she did but it was close to impossible.

She kept walking and looked at the boardwalk where they had hung out all summer, where she kissed Perrie for the first time and last. Jade gave out a little breath of air in place of a smile. It was hard looking back at the things that once made her smile. Especially when she was looking back without Perrie. She remembered the slight taste of vanilla ice cream, the subtle sweet tang of a strawberry, the little remains of the bitter alcohol on Perrie's lips that last time they kissed.

And even though your friends tell me you're doing fine
And you're somewhere feeling lonely even though he's right beside you
When he says those words that hurt you do you read the ones I wrote you?
Sometimes I start to wonder, was it just a lie?
If what we had was real, how could you be fine?
'Cause I'm not fine at all.

Jade sat at the kitchen table, a beer in hand staring into the space in front of her. She ran into Jesy for the first time since the breakup. Of course she just had to inform Jade that Perrie was doing fine, that she was with someone new, Jack?, and was happy. Was it only four weeks since she had written the letter? Since she wrote to Perrie a couple days before she broke it off.

Jade sighed and took another swig of the beer, "'course. She would find someone better and come brag 'bout it. Jus' figures." She ran a hand through her already ragged hair. How could Perrie be fine?

Unless it wasn't even real. The realization hit Jade like a train. Perrie was fine because it wasn't real to her. That's why a month later and she was already with someone new. It made sense. She put all she could into a relationship that wasn't even real on the other side.

I remember the day you told me you were leaving
I remember the makeup running down your face
And the dreams you left behind you didn't need them
Like every single wish we ever made
I wish that I could wake up with amnesia
And forget about the stupid little things
Like the way it felt to fall asleep next to you
And the memories I never can escape
'Cause I'm not fine at all

(Flashback)

"Jade, I," Perrie groaned and ran a hand through her hair. "We need to talk. I-I think it's best that we, God I hate this." Her words were halted, heavy with emotion, tears threatening to fall down her cheeks.

"Perrie no, don't." Jade whispered knowing what it was. In the year she had known Perrie, loved Perrir, she learned the things about her that made her tick. "Please, we can make it work. Give me a second chance. Give us a second chance."

"I don't-I don't think there is a second chance." Perrie hiccuped and the tears started falling. "Jade, it's over. It's for the better."

"No, Perrie, what about, what about us? What about our plans, our future, our forever? You can't do that. Perrie please there's gotta be a second chance." Jade pleaded. Her own eyes started filling with tears. She couldn't believe it.
