I wake up from the nap and I still feel weak. I get up and unlock my door, I walk downstairs to see Laurie and Justin on the couch sitting. I walk to her but I start getting sick and feint. Both of them sees me.
"Caroliena what's wrong?" They get up as soon as I'm about to fall.
"Caroliena" Justin actually sounds concerned. "I'll call the ambulance."
I say very weakly "no you don't have to."
"Call the ambulance. Now!"
Justin calls and they get here within 5 minutes.
Laurie explains everything. They get me on the gurney and into the truck.
Laurie and Justin lags behind most likely go in the car.
Then the medics start asking me questions.
"Do you know where your are?"
I don't answer because I'm dozing in and out.
"What's your name?"
I still don't answer and I close my eyes.
"You have to stay up..." Then I hear another voice "Caroliena, her name is Caroliena, I'm her sister Laurie."
Laurie decided to come with me.
"Caroliena you have to stay up, ok?"
I open my eyes "where am I?"
"Carol you don't know where you are?"
I look at her confused "no why should I?"
A voice not Laurie's yells "speed it up and turn on the sirens!"
"I know I'm at home."
"Good job Caroliena you are at home."
I feel the truck moving. I look at Laurie when she looks at me "Laurie I miss mom and dad" and I pass out.
When I wake up I'm in a hospital bed. I look around and I don't see Laurie. I start yelling "LAURIE!!"
Nurses comes in. "Caroliena what's wrong?"
"Where is my sister?"
Someone leaves and walks back in with Laurie and Justin. They both come to me. The other nurses leave.
"I was so scared I was worried about you Caroliena."
"I'm sorry Laurie."
The nurse taps her shoulder. Laurie leaves with the nurse. I start to get scared. I don't like being alone with Justin.
"If you tell anyone there will be more where that comes from" he whispers in my ear.
The nurse and Laurie walks back in. Laurie looks very sad.
"Laurie what's wrong?"
"Justin can you leave us for a few?"
He nods and walks out with the nurse.
"Carol, the nurse said that you have cuts and bruises on your head."
"I know."
"Carol, can you tell me why?"
"I had hit my head while walking to school. I had ran into tree branches while I was taking a shortcut through the trees. I got hit by branches." I easily lie.
"Ok you better be telling the truth."
"I am" I answer her even though it was never a question.
Justin walks back in with the doctor "hi Caroliena I'm doctor Lenny. How are you doing?" He looks at Laurie and Justin "can I speak to her alone?"
