Lucy's Story:

Princess Lucy was sweating and her white gown was torn up by the time she'd climbed over the stone palace walls. She looked at what Erza had left her. It was a brown cloak that would disguise her well enough. "A whole day of freedom this was going to be interesting" Lucy thought to herself. Lucy had only been to the village outside the palace walls twice when she was younger. One of those times was when she met Erza, her faithful best friend. She made her way to the village entrance where she went unnoticed in the hustle of crowds.

People were talking among themselves on the street about a dragon sighting. All Princess Lucy could hear was the phrases "pink scales" and "white scarf" confused the young Princess makes her way to the center market where the crowd is sure to have more information about this dragon. All of a sudden a yank on her arm pulls her into one of the alleyways. Lucy is about to scream, but her mouth is covered by a hand.

"Hey, can you lend me your cloak? I need to get out of this town without being spotted," a boy about Lucy's age with spiky pink hair, tan skin, and a white scaly scarf asks the princess releasing his hand from her mouth.

"Ummm who are you? Why do you need to escape? And no I won't give you my cloak!" Lucy says hiding her face deeper into the cloak. At least it was only a boy, Lucy knew she could take him out quick if he posed a threat to the kingdom.

"Fine, I'll answer, but only because I know you are trustworthy, I could smell it off of you. I am the great dragon, Dragneel son of Igneel the awesome. I thought Igneel might be here in this town, but I couldn't find him anywhere!" Dragneel the supposed dragon complains

"Dragon ehhh? You look human enough to me!" Lucy replies skeptically. Dragneel grows scales and claw

"This is just my human form, all dragons have one," Dragneel tells her. "and I really need to get out of here, the guards will hang me or shoot me if they think I'm a threat to the kingdom,"

"So Dragneel if you really need to get out of this place can't you just fly?" Lucy asks

"That would cause too much commotion plus with my hair this salmon color I'll draw attention right away, so can I borrow that cloak to hide and disguise in?" Dragneel begs

"Well..." knowing that if Lucy gave up her cloak, the guards would recognize her and take her back to the palace, but also knowing that she could have saved an innocent life Lucy chose the latter. "fine, but here's the plan. I jump out and cause a distraction while you run the other way and fly out of here okay?"

"Got it now can you uncloak yourself? I need to go," Dragneel says. Lucy carefully unties the cloak and slips it off her head of blonde hair. Dragneel just sits there staring at the flawless features of the blonde Princess "she's pretty, no beautiful..." Dragneel thinks to himself as he's snapped out of his daze by the said blonde girl placing the cloak in his hands. He blushes a deep shade of red, like Erza's hair.

"See ya another time Dragneel, don't get caught!" Lucy says to the blushing dragon. A slight blush forms on her face as she turns away from the dragon who'll she'll probably never see again. With those words Dragneel knew he had to go, but he vowed to himself that he'd see the selfless girl again. Lucy runs out into the streets and calls out "I am Princess Lucy Heartfilia here to get something to eat, I mean seriously I'm starving!" Lucy yells to the townspeople. Dragneel's jaw drops

"she's the Princess?! Well at least now I know she lives at the palace," he thinks, wrapping himself in the cloak Dragneel runs out of the village and into the woods. He takes one last look at the Princess, who's now being swarmed by women and men offering her food. Sprouts wings, folds up the cloak and transforms into a dragon. Dragneel takes off flying towards the far away mountains on his quest to seek out his father, Igneel and to see the princess again. Lucy is found by the angry guards who scold her for causing such a commotion. She is then escorted back to the palace where her father will lecture her and her short freedom will be lost.

Back at the Palace:

As soon as Princess Lucy is found she is escorted immediately to her room to clean herself up. Passing Erza and a blue haired guy on her way up the steps she just smiles and gives them a quick hello. Erza apologizes about lying to Jellal about the Princess's little plan for a day of freedom quickly before Jellal is escorted away by his guards to go get ready for the grand dinner. At dinner Lucy wear's a new gown and tiara for the occasion she is sitting across from an uncomfortable looking Jellal, and Erza guards the doors. Lucy tries to talk with the Prince, but he seems so distant it's almost impossible. "If this is what being queen is, then I hate it!" Lucy thinks to herself.

"Jellal do you really want to go through with this? I can see you're not enjoying this meal," Lucy says standing up, thoughts of the Dragneel cloud her thoughts.

"Honestly, no, I don't. I like you as a person don't get me wrong, but can we just ask to break off this marriage thing?" Jellal says awkwardly knowing that as long as he loved another this marriage would never work out. Lucy nodded in agreement and went to go ring for her father, not knowing how to explain to him that this wasn't working out.

After arriving at the grand ballroom where the meal was taking place King Jude listened to his daughter and Jellal explain why this marriage was to be canceled.

"Lucy listen here, I need a worthy successor to take my place as King and I think that Prince Jellal would bring peace to this kingdom," Jude tells his daughter

"but father, is I'm going to marry it's going to be for love not power, plus I hate the responsibilities here. I DON'T WANT TO BE QUEEN!" Lucy admits to her father. King Jude nods his head gravely.

"A queen who is not devoted to her responsibilities will only bring chaos and disorder to a kingdom. Lucy I love you, but who will take your place as future King and Queen of Fairy Tail?"

"Erza is now officially Princess of Fairy Tail, she will be your successor to the throne and marry Jellal later on," Lucy says making Erza and Jellal blush. "I know that Erza will be devoted to her responsibilities she single handedly can protect this kingdom from harm and she knows the troubles of a villager. She can use that to solve their problems. Plus I also know that Jellal and her are compatible from the way they were talking earlier,"

"Well then it's settled, Erza would you take on the responsibilities of being Queen of Fairy Tail?" King Jude asks

"I accept, as long as you don't lock me in a tower," Erza says, still blushing from the fact that she was betrothed to Jellal.

"Lucy now what are you going to do now that you're no longer Princess of Fairy Tail?" King Jude asks

"I am going to move into the village to the adorable cottage on Strawberry Street, and get a job as a writer for the newspaper!" Lucy says "I've always been passionate about writing, but it wasn't until I went to the village that I saw you could actually make money from it!"

"Looks as if everyone's happy! Erza, Prince Jellal when is your wedding gonna be?" Jude says looking at the two

"That wedding won't be happening, I know that Jellal is in love with another girl, probably from his kingdom. He should pursue his happiness with her," Erza says, a look of disappointment in her eye.

"You're so stupid Erza, the girl who I've loved all along was you! I'm glad that I can finally be with the unforgettable girl with the pretty scarlet hair," Jellal admits looking down in embarrassment and blushing a deep shade of red. Erza is left stuttering a bright red sheen covers her cheeks.

"As Levy-chan gets back from her quest, we will hold the ceremony!" Lucy announces beaming for the new couple.
