The wind howled softly, leaves rustling and scattering all over the ground as it blew. Cool gusts of air brushed against your skin as you advanced, trying to find your way out of the dark forest.
Not a single person could be found, the only company you had were the nonstop chirping of crickets and the occasional sounds of tiny wild animals crawling through bushes and trees.
The eerie atmosphere engulfed you as the battery of your only source of light had been completely drained, leaving you in the cold darkness with just a bit of moonlight above you, barely enough for you to see. You heard a noise behind you.
But it wasn't the sound of crickets or animals this time, not even the wind.
It sounded like a chuckle.
A sudden gust of freezing cold wind swirled around you, unnaturally cold wind, like the kind from an air conditioner. The noise came again, this time followed by a soft tap on your shoulder. You jumped up a little, turning around out of reflex, only to find a tall figure staring right back at you. He flashed you a smile. "What are you doing here alone in my forest?"
You fell to the ground in shock, paralyzed by fear. Two of his teeth were dangerously sharp, almost like they could rip someone's flesh off in just one bite.
He showed his fangs again with another smile after seeing your reaction. "Don't be afraid of me, I won't bite you."
You continued staring at him, a little less frightened than before. Apart from the fact that his fangs and yellow eyes still kind of scared you, he's really cute, and his smile could melt your heart.
"I'm Kim Wonshik, but just call me Ravi." He offered you his hand to help you up from the ground. You held onto his hand. It was cold, but strangely pleasant.
"You-You're a...vampire?" You stuttered, keeping a distance from him.
"So you don't know about me huh? I was wondering why a girl like you would dare to come here alone." He leaned in closer towards you, tilting his head slightly, a cute smile plastered on his face. "That's right, I'm a vampire. And this entire forest belongs to me."
You took a step back but he grabbed your arm, stopping you from moving. "You're still afraid of me? There's nothing to fear. I'm not like the rest, I have no desire for blood."
"Then what do you—"
"Red." He picked a strawberry from a nearby plant and put it into your hands. "Red food is enough for me to subsist, I don't need the blood of innocent living creatures."
"Oh..." You felt the anxiety melt away, finally becoming more comfortable with him.
"You're cute." He planted a kiss on your forehead, making you blush. His lips felt so soft against your skin. "I'll walk you home, can't let my jagi walk home alone in the dark." He held your hand and lead you out of the forest.
"Jagi?" You gave him a confused look, which he responded to with a smile.
"Yeah, you're mine now. My kiss will protect you from the evil, so don't be afraid to come back someday...and by someday I meant tomorrow." He winked, giving you a hug. "Remember to come, I'll be waiting."
"Sure, I'll see you tomorrow." You returned his hug, burying your face in his chest, which felt warmer compared to the temperature of his body.
Ravi is such a cutie pie, in complete contrast to how he appeared to be at first and what you would expect a vampire to be like, and you couldn't help but grow to love him more each day.
