• Chapter- 6 •

Me:>> what the hell are you saying?? I told you so many times that Laura and I are just friends <<

Cole:>> well that's not how she feels <<

Me:>> leave me tf alone I don't care about what u think aren't you tired of trying to get us together? Not happening. <<

Cole:>> SHE TOLD ME <<

Me:>> I don't believe u 😅 <<

I look up to see Cole speeding up towards me. I rise to my feet and throw the blanket to the ground. I start walking away in a hurry and circling around the fire. Laura looks at the two of us and Cole grips my arm, finally catching up to me.

"I'm serious! ", he shouts in my face. I glare at him, my anger increasing. Oh god. I should've kept visiting my psychologist.

"Whatever. I have to be alone. ", I tell him and try to get away because my hands are trembling.

"Even if she did like me, I'm sure that would stop once I told her I don't wanna be with her and I don't want her to like me, mostly because all women want commitment and they all plan on having kids some day. It's all about safety and future and shit and no girl has a future with me. ", I snap and run my hands over my hair.

Cole's face pales as he makes an uneasy expression, nodding his head towards something behind me. I turn around to see Laura with a deep frown on her face.

"Laura.. I can explain. "

"I don't like you. ", she speaks with a shaky voice and shakes her head left and right repeatedly. "Fuck you, Cole. "

Laura sobs and runs away from us. I turn to Cole and shamelessly slap him, so hard that he stumbles backwards, holding his reddened cheek. I breathe heavily and stare at him as I've never looked at anyone before.

"You made her cry. You're a fucking retard. Stay out of my love life next time! ", I shout at him.

"I swear I didn't lie! She was the one to lie, she's too afraid to tell you. ", he breathes.

I stare at my shaky hands before running in Laura's direction.

"Laura! Wait. "

"Leave me alone. I'm not mad, I promise. I just need to think. ", she shouts and keeps running.

I run faster and even though she's a pretty good runner, I catch up to her and grab her forearms, making her face me. Laura groans and tries to wiggle out of my grasp.

"I don't like you. Cole is just an idiot, okay? ", her eyes hold this strange spark behind them. My lips part.

"Are you sure? I just wanna know the truth. I care about you, Laura. "

"You.. You look upset. ", she studies my face but never meets my eyes.

"Because I am. You should've seen the way I slapped him when you left. Why would he lie about such a thing? ", I ask and finally let go of Laura's arms.

She looks down. "You slapped him? You shouldn't have done that. It's just me who is mad at him, not you. Leave him alone. He didn't deserve it. "

"You are defending him now? "

"I am mad at you too, Ross. You were making drama over nothing. Yes, Cole knows something you don't, whatever. It's just a small thing and you didn't actually deserve for me to tell you by the way you've been acting. "

"And what the fuck did I do? Tell me! I know I've been moody lately but you try having damn cancer at seventeen and then we will see how you would take it! You are being ridiculous! Just fucking tell me so we can get over it. I was trying hard and you know it. Now you're telling me I wasn't a decent enough friend? Well, sorry to disappoint you but I can't do better. "
