I woke up to the sunlight streaming through my window. I closed my eyes trying to go back to the temporary peace that I had gained with sleep. I was drifting in and out of consciousness when I heard voices and the stairs creaking under someone's weight. Hearing my door open and I screwed my eyes up tighter, refusing to let my personal hell encroach on my moment of calm. I felt thuds reverberating through the floor sending pain throughout my body at each and every movement beneath me. "El! Speak to me! What the fuck happened here?!" I felt hands gently rolling me onto my back. I cried out in protest. I opened my eyes to see a man above me, his face etched with concern and his eyes blazing with anger. I reached up and touched his cheek, not caring how with every movement I stung. His eyes softened. "El?" His coarse voice questioned. I smiled before slipping back in to darkness.

The soft hum of an engine surrounded me along with a pair of strong arms. I pried my eyes open to see a smirk plastered across Slade's face. "Oh hello princess, decided to wake up did we?" Frowning I pushed my hand against his chest in an effort to get away before giving up and and slumping back into my original position. I heard chuckling and looked round to see Ryan and Jason in the front seats, I stiffened remembering the past days events. My eyes darted around the cars black leather interior for an escape route to no avail. A hand ran through my hair. "Don't worry, you're safe now, we're nearly there." Confused, I asked. "Nearly where?"
"Here" said the deep voice coming from one of the twins in the front seats. In front of me a majestic pair of gold looking gates opened inwards to revealing a breath-taking view of the most magnificent building I've ever seen in my life. "Welcome to your new home princess" Slade whispered in my ear. A white stone mansion stood before me, beautifully crafted columns sat upon the grey marble steps which lead to the sturdy, dark oak doors. Even through my awe at the mansion before me I couldn't help but notice the high, barbed wire, surrounding with security cameras at various intervals. Nor could I miss a multitude of hench armed guards patrolled the grounds. All the security made the beautiful estate rather menacing and it made me question; are they trying to keep people out or in? My new 'home' was starting to look like a high-end prison.
Carefully, Slade slid me off his lap. He addressed the twins. "Give me five minutes then bring her in will you?" They both nodded and Slade left the car and headed in through the arched doors. An awkward silence fell upon the occupants of the car. "So..." I said. "I hope you don't mind me asking but um who's who?" The man in the drivers seat turned to me. His face was more weathered and old than I was expecting showing him to be in his late thirties. "I'm Jason." His rough voice filled the car. Ryan turned to me "You can tell the difference by this." He pointed to an inch long scar on the right side of his chin. "How did you get that?" I questioned tentatively. He looked at his brother. "I don't think you wanna know girl." They bother hid their sniggers with a cough. Although this seemed to be an innocent enough exchange, I had a suspicion that if I did know that I may feel differently towards my safety in the car. A few more minutes had passed when Jason announced we should enter the building. I opened my door and stepped out. My legs almost collapsed from under me after a stabbing pain in my stomach took over my body. Ryan helped steady me and let me lean on him for support as we made our way up the steps. "I'll give you one tip kid." He muttered. "Look as tough as nails or you'll be seen as weak and they won't take kindly to you." I looked up at the giant next to me and saw his deadly serious expression. I gulped as the front door opened, I felt as though I was about to dive into shark infested waters. Taking a deep breath, I walked in.
